Description
Taichi Nanao, a high-energy member of Mankai Company's Autumn Troupe, possesses an intense, persistent desire for popularity. His vibrant appearance features red-dyed hair accented with black highlights on the right side, multiple ear piercings, and striking bright blue eyes. His fashion embraces American hip-hop influences, meticulously curated from lifestyle magazines. Typical outfits include a blue sweatshirt emblazoned with "Black" print layered over a white long T-shirt, slim black pants worn beneath wider shorts, white sneakers, and a long golden necklace.

Sociable and attention-seeking, Taichi often loudly proclaims, "I want to be popular! I want to be popular right now!". He chases trends in fashion and activities to win validation, though these attempts frequently falter, especially in romance. Despite projecting confidence, he harbors deep-seated low self-esteem and sensitivity to rejection, openly sharing his insecurities. His enthusiastic, loyal interactions, reminiscent of a puppy, earned him the nickname "Akapoyo-kun". He actively seeks acknowledgment from Banri Settsu, whom he admires for talent, and Juza Hyodo, whose intimidating presence he respects.

A minor childhood acting role initially brought Taichi fleeting attention, igniting his craving for fame. When it faded, he pursued passing trends, like mastering yo-yo tricks only after a classmate gained popularity for it, achieving skill just as interest waned. This pattern led him back to acting. Auditioning for the prestigious God Troupe, he accepted recruitment as a spy within Mankai in exchange for a role. After forming genuine bonds with the Autumn Troupe, Taichi tearfully confessed his deception and was forgiven, becoming a permanent member.

His character development shifts focus from external validation to cherishing camaraderie. Taichi openly expresses gratitude for joining Mankai, stating, "Joining this theatre company and being able to meet lots of friends - I was happy!". He relies on fellow members: seeking advice from roommate Omi Fushimi and viewing Sakyo Furuichi as an intellectual role model. His shared energetic disposition and the kanji "一" (one) in their names led to forming the "Puppy Pair" (Wan-Wan Combi) with Kazunari Miyoshi.

Taichi attends Ouka High School alongside Tenma Sumeragi and Juza Hyodo. His hobbies include sewing, praised by Yuki Rurikawa, and romance-related activities, aligning with Autumn Troupe's "Real Men Wear Pink" theme. He has performed roles like Benjamin in "The Roman Episode" and Luke Brown in "Fallen Blood". His motif flower is the pansy, symbolizing thoughtfulness and admiration.
