Description
Commando-Z is one of the two enigmatic figures who appear in the latter half of the story, acting as a counterpart to Cyber X. His real name is Totaro, and together with his partner Takuya, who operates under the alias Cyber X, he is revealed to be one of the original creators of the Cyberdoll technology that produced May and the other dolls.

Commando-Z presents a mysterious and initially antagonistic presence, seemingly observing the events surrounding Kazuya Saotome and the Cyberdolls from the shadows. His primary motivation is closely tied to the protection and monitoring of the MAID system, the advanced artificial intelligence operating system developed by Kazuya. Alongside Cyber X, Commando-Z is responsible for carefully preparing and deploying six specific Cyberdoll units, including May, Kei, Rena, Sara, and Mami, suggesting a long-term plan or experiment that revolves around Kazuya's work. His actions are driven by the need to ensure the integrity of this system, especially when it becomes threatened by a powerful computer virus.

The character's role in the story is intrinsically linked to the resolution of the central conflict involving a dangerous virus that begins to incapacitate Cyberdolls. Commando-Z and Cyber X arrive to provide critical information and assistance, revealing that they are from the future and have a direct, personal connection to the main characters. This revelation contextualizes their seemingly intrusive interest in Kazuya’s life. They explain that the virus corrupting the Cyberdolls is actually the same program created by Kotaro Nanbara that initially infected Kazuya's computer, which has evolved and spread. Commando-Z's knowledge and technology prove essential in the effort to analyze and remove the virus, ultimately facilitating the plan that leads to May sacrificing her memories to save the other dolls.

Regarding his relationships, Commando-Z works in perfect tandem with Cyber X, and the two are clearly partners with a shared objective. They have a complex, indirect relationship with both Kazuya and Nanbara, as their future identities tie them to these individuals in a significant, though not fully detailed, familial or ancestral way. Their primary concern is for the Cyberdolls, specifically May, not as mere property but as the carriers of the revolutionary MAID system.

Throughout his appearance, Commando-Z demonstrates a notable set of abilities. He possesses sophisticated technical knowledge far beyond the current time period, given his origins. He is capable of interfacing with and diagnosing the complex systems of the Cyberdolls and is instrumental in formulating the technical solution to the virus. While his direct combat abilities are not the focus, his presence and actions are pivotal in shifting the narrative from a simple romantic comedy to a science fiction drama concerning the nature of memory, identity, and artificial life.
