TV-Series
Description
Ayame Fujieda serves as the Vice Commander of the Imperial Assault Force, a role that places her as the second-in-command of the organization. She was born in Tokyo, Japan, on July 31, 1899, and stood 163 centimeters tall with a weight of 46 kilograms and AB blood type. Prior to her position in the Imperial Assault Force, she was a member of the Anti-Kouma Squad alongside comrades Ikki Yoneda, Shinnosuke Yamazaki, and Kazuma Shinguji. As a member of the Fujieda family, the current head of the household, she inherited the divine sword Shinken Shirahatori, a blade of immense spiritual power passed down through her bloodline.

In her role as Vice Commander, Ayame is deeply dedicated and serious about her responsibilities, yet she also possesses a caring and sometimes playful demeanor toward her subordinates in the Flower Division. She is known for her mature and mysterious beauty, typically exhibiting a calm and composed bearing while harboring a strong pain from the loss of Shinnosuke Yamazaki, whom she loved. Her personality blends professionalism with a quiet strength, and she operates as a cautious but bold individual, believing in being careful in strategy while daring in action.

Ayame is highly motivated by her duty to protect the Imperial Capital and to nurture the members of the Imperial Assault Force. She functions as a talent scout, traveling the world to recruit individuals with exceptional spiritual powers and the potential to pilot the Koubu fighting mecha. She was personally responsible for bringing Li Kohran from Shanghai, Maria Tachibana from New York, and Iris Châteaubriand from France to Japan, laying the foundation for the modern Imperial Combat Revue. Her role in the story involves guiding and advising the protagonist, Ichiro Ogami, whom she mentors and helps develop into a capable leader. She also shares a deep, unspoken romantic connection with her former Anti-Kouma Squad comrade, Shinnosuke Yamazaki, who becomes the antagonist Aoi Satan.

Ayame Fujieda undergoes a tragic transformation during the events of the first Sakura Wars. After being implanted with a Kouma seed that awakens within her, she is corrupted into a powerful demonic entity known as Aya-me, which translates to murderous woman. In this fallen form, she becomes cold, unforgiving, and sadistic, serving as a leading member of the Black Demon Society alongside Aoi Satan and working to bring about the destruction of Tokyo. This corrupted version of Ayame is capable of flight with wings on her back and skillfully wields a whip in combat. Despite her transformation, fragments of her original self struggle to break through, and she can ultimately be saved, awakening as her true form: Michael the Archangel. In this angelic state, she becomes a benevolent and wise figure who aids the heroes by revealing Satan's weakness, the light of human hearts, and she ascends to heaven after bidding the heroes farewell.

Ayame possesses a wide array of notable abilities. She is a master of Oofuji-ryu Aikijujutsu, a martial art that combines traditional aikijujutsu with spiritual energy techniques, and holds a menkyo kaiden, or license of total transmission, in this style. She is also highly skilled in marksmanship and wields the divine sword Shinken Shirahatori. Linguistically, she is exceptionally talented, speaking English, Japanese including both Kanto and Okinawa dialects, French, Chinese, and potentially basic Russian. In her corrupted Aya-me form, her abilities change dramatically; she gains superhuman strength, the power of flight, the ability to summon other Kouma demons, and her attacks can inflict poison on her enemies. She leaves behind a legacy as the mother of the Imperial Combat Revue, with her younger sister, Kaede Fujieda, eventually taking her place as Vice Commander.
