Description
Pixie, later known as Granity, is a monster in the Monster Rancher anime who begins the story as one of Moo's four most powerful servants, a group called the Big Bad Four, and gradually becomes one of the main group's most steadfast allies. She is the lowest ranked of the Big Bad Four. During her early service to Moo, she holds a personal vendetta against humans and takes pleasure in conquering towns and forcing their inhabitants into slavery. At one point she turns the entire community of North Town into a prison, and the heroes must confront her there before she is won away from Moo's influence.
In her original form, Pixie appears as a slim young woman who looks to be in her early twenties, with red hair, a pair of leathery wings, two silver horns, and a long whip-like tail ending in a small spike. Her usual clothing is a reddish-pink, bikini-like outfit. In terms of temperament, she first comes across as proud, fierce, and ruthless, especially toward humans, but she is also sharp and observant. After her change of heart, her disposition is usually described as quiet and shrewd as well as level-headed and mature, and she proves herself to be a serious and dependable fighter.
Her motivations shift dramatically over the course of the series. Initially she serves Moo out of loyalty to his cause and through her own hatred of humanity. When the human boy Genki confronts her and helps open her eyes to the truth of Moo's evil, she abandons her former master. From that point on, her motivation becomes opposing Moo and aiding Genki and his companions in their struggle, and she continues to help them time and again as a semi-regular ally.
Pixie's role in the story develops from antagonist to anti-heroine. After leaving Moo, she becomes a recurring supporter of the main group and fights alongside them in several major battles. Her personal story reaches a turning point when she is mortally wounded by Moo himself. She is saved by the sacrifice of her devoted follower Big Blue, who gives his life so that she can be healed. Through this rebirth she is transformed into Granity, taking on an almost angelic appearance. In this new form her leathery wings become feathery, her hair turns green, and her reddish-pink clothing is replaced by stone battle armor, while she retains her role as a fighter opposing Moo's forces.
Her key relationships include Moo, her former master whom she ultimately renounces; Genki, whose influence leads to her redemption; her former colleagues among the Big Bad Four, whom she turns against; and Big Blue, the loyal follower whose sacrifice grants her a second life. She also becomes a trusted ally to Genki's friends and fellow travelers, fighting beside them in the ongoing conflict.

She can generate massive surges of energy and is skilled in several attack and defense techniques.
