Description
Kyoko Asada is a classmate of the protagonist Takashi Horimachi in the fifth grade at Anytown Elementary School. She is portrayed as a popular student within the class. Her typical demeanor is kind and friendly, but she possesses a notable capacity for anger that can make her quite frightening to those around her. She frequently directs her frustration toward both Takashi and the alien transfer student Taro Tanaka.
Kyoko's role in the story is primarily as a classmate and the object of Takashi's initial affections. She is involved in several of the series' comedic mishaps, most notably when a birthday gift from Takashi is swapped by Taro with an explosive device, leading to a significant misunderstanding. Her relationship with Takashi evolves throughout the series; while he originally likes her and invites her on a date, his conscious awareness of her decreases as the story progresses. A discarded future storyline from the manga originally depicted Kyoko as marrying Taro and having a child named Tarosuke, though this plot point was later abandoned.
Regarding her physical appearance, Kyoko's hair style changed over the course of the original manga, starting with wavy semi-long hair before being depicted with straight hair. In the anime adaptation, she is characterized by her twin-tail hairstyle. No significant unique abilities or notable character development arc beyond these changing dynamics are described in available information.
