TV-Series
Description
Millerna Sara Aston, also known as Mirana, is the third princess of the kingdom of Asturia. She is the youngest daughter of King Grava Aston and Queen Therese Aston, with two older sisters, the deceased Princess Marlene and Princess Eries. Early in the story, Millerna is betrothed to Dryden Fassa, the son of a wealthy merchant, an arrangement she initially resents because she harbors strong romantic feelings for the knight Allen Schezar. Her ambition was once to become a doctor, but she was forced to abandon her medical studies by her second sister, Eries, due to political expectations.

Millerna’s personality is defined by a combination of royal composure, intelligence, and emotional vulnerability. She is polite, well-mannered, and deeply caring toward others, often placing the needs of her people above her own desires. Despite her noble upbringing, she possesses an independent and free spirit, which eventually leads her to run away from Asturia to join Van and his companions in their struggle against the Zaibach Empire. She is pragmatic and resourceful, using her medical knowledge to aid the group, and shows courage in opposing her own kingdom’s alliance with Zaibach when she recognizes its wrongdoing.

Her motivations shift over the course of the series. Initially driven by her infatuation with Allen and her frustration with her arranged marriage, Millerna gradually matures and learns to take responsibility for her own happiness. Her relationship with Dryden evolves from cold formality to mutual respect; she comes to appreciate his genuine affection and good qualities, though she remains conflicted about her feelings. In the end, they separate on amicable terms, with Dryden vowing to return when he is more deserving of her. Millerna then realizes that she cannot depend on others to fulfill her, and she chooses to stand on her own.

Key relationships include her unrequited love for Allen, which creates tension with Hitomi Kanzaki, the series’ protagonist, whom Millerna initially views as a rival. Over time, she and Hitomi become close friends and allies. Millerna also discovers the secret of Allen’s fatherhood of Prince Chid, revealing her perceptive nature. She is a supporting character whose arc emphasizes personal growth, the rejection of passive dependence, and the embrace of self-determination. Her notable abilities are her intelligence, her skill in medicine and healing, and her capacity for political awareness and moral conviction. She does not possess any supernatural powers, but her courage and empathy make her a valuable member of the group.
