Eledore Massis stands as a vital support member of the 08th MS Team, serving as a corporal and operating the team's hover truck during ground missions. At 22 years old, he is the second oldest member of the platoon, only surpassed by his fellow veteran, Karen Joshua. Unlike the mobile suit pilots in the unit, Eledore suffers from claustrophobia, a condition that prevents him from piloting a mobile suit and keeps him confined to his role in the support vehicle.
On the surface, Eledore presents himself as a carefree and outgoing individual who often seems like a poor and undisciplined soldier. He frequently slacks off between battles, listening to music on his headphones rather than focusing on military duties, and freely admits that he is not cut out to be a soldier. However, this relaxed attitude disappears completely on the battlefield. When a mission is underway, Eledore becomes serious and attentive, taking his responsibilities with full dedication and even chastising his partner Michel Ninorich for any slowness in their shared duties.

During the escape, he is shot and wounded, receiving first aid from Karen before being transported to a field hospital in the rear.
