The character referred to as Queen Devila is known in the original materials as Raindevila, sometimes written as Reine Devila, and her name is French for "Queen Devil." She is the queen and supreme ruler of the Devil World and the main antagonist of Wedding Peach, holding authority over the many devils who serve her. She is depicted as an adult woman with long green hair and gray eyes, and she has reigned over the Devil World for a long period even before the events of the story begin.
Her background is tied to a painful experience in the Angel World. In the anime, it is revealed that years before the main story she ventured into the Angel World and fell in love with an angel at first sight. That angel later married another angel, and Raindevila was eventually banished from the Angel World. The heartbreak and rejection she suffered there became the source of her intense hatred for love. Some tellings of her origin explain that her hatred and fear of love led to her being consumed or possessed by a Monster Tree, which is what transformed her into the powerful ruler of the Devil World.
