Description
Momoko Hanasaki is the central protagonist of Wedding Peach. She is a thirteen-year-old girl born on March 3 to a human father, a photographer, and an angel mother named Celeste, who is the younger sister of the goddess Aphrodite. When Momoko was very young, her mother returned to the Angel World; her father told her that her mother had died, so Momoko grew up believing she had lost her. Her most treasured possession is the ruby ring her mother left behind.
Momoko is bright and cheerful, with a good heart and a bit of a temper. She is known for her clumsiness, which often amuses those around her, and she can be emotional and naive. At the same time, she has a mature and independent side, having learned to handle housework due to her mother’s absence. She is sociable and makes friends easily, and she has a quirky tsundere streak, especially in her interactions with Yousuke Fuuma. Her enthusiasm for photography leads her to work on her school’s newspaper club alongside her best friends Yuri Tanima and Hinagiku Tamano.
Her initial motivation is the desire for romance and a normal teenage life. She has a crush on the soccer team captain Yanagiba Kazuya. Everything changes when a devil named Pluie attacks her to steal her mother’s ring. The angel Limone gives her a magical compact, the Saint Miroir, which allows her to transform into the legendary Love Angel Wedding Peach. The goddess Aphrodite then charges her with the mission of protecting the world’s love waves from the Devils who seek to destroy them. Over the course of the story, her personal desire for love deepens into a sense of duty to safeguard all love.
