Description
Fiana is the princess of the kingdom of Valis and the daughter of King Fahn. Her early life was marked by a traumatic political event when, as an infant, she was surrendered by her father to a desert tribe as a sacrifice to the dragon Shooting Star. This act was a matter of political diplomacy, but it led to a secret plan where the knight Tessius, father of the hero Parn, rescued her. To protect the king from diplomatic repercussions, Tessius took full blame for the incident, resulting in his own disgrace and eventual death in battle. This past event ties Fiana's fate closely to that of Parn before they ever meet.

Personality-wise, Fiana is portrayed as a poised and dutiful young woman, aware of her responsibilities as a princess. Her motivations are primarily political and peaceful; she willingly undertakes a diplomatic mission to the neighboring kingdom of Alania to secure an alliance against the invading forces of the dark island of Marmo. This mission demonstrates her courage and her commitment to her kingdom's survival, as she places herself in considerable danger for the sake of Valis.

In the story, Fiana serves as a key figure who connects the main party of adventurers to the larger political conflict. Her diplomatic journey is intercepted by the powerful and ancient sorceress Karla, and she is saved by Parn and his companions. This rescue allows the group to become directly involved in the war between Valis and Marmo. Following the death of her father, King Fahn, in battle, Fiana plays a crucial ceremonial role by granting Parn her father's sacred sword, symbolically passing on the will of Valis to the young knight.

Fiana's key relationships are central to her role. She shares a deep bond with her father, King Fahn, whose guilt over sacrificing her as a child influenced his later actions. Her relationship with Parn is defined by gratitude and mutual respect, with her gift of the royal sword being a pivotal moment. More significantly, she develops a romantic attraction to Etoh, a priest of the goddess Falis and a member of Parn's group. This relationship has profound political implications for the kingdom of Valis, where the throne is not inherited by bloodline but chosen from the knighthood. Etoh, due to his high spiritual power and the esteem of the church, ascends to the throne after marrying Fiana, making her the queen. This outcome was not without political opposition, as some objected to a non-knight becoming king and to Fiana gaining political power as queen.

Fiana does not possess notable combat abilities or magical powers. Her strengths lie in her political symbolic value, her diplomacy, and her role as a connector between different characters and factions. Her development is largely from a princess on a dangerous mission to a queen who helps determine the future leadership of her war-torn kingdom.
