Description
Ranchiki is a supporting character in the anime Maze. He is a young boy with a multi-hued hairdo who travels alongside the main cast. He works as an illuminator, a type of magic user who employs light-based abilities, just as the protagonist Maze does, and he also serves as a pilot of demi-armor, the series' mechanical combat units. In both of these roles, however, he is noticeably less powerful and less skilled than Maze, and his efforts in battle tend to fall short when measured against the main characters.
His personality is defined largely by his romantic attachments. For most of his life, Ranchiki has carried an unrequited love for Gold, a prince in disguise. This long-standing devotion is a central part of his character.
