Description
Lord Umoto Arte Marves, an Elf Noble-High Lord of the Holy Empire Westelande, wields political influence as overseer of the territory’s merchant fleet. He commands the Spirit Ship Eagle, a vessel pivotal to his schemes. Pale-skinned and gaunt, he dresses in flamboyant purple garments edged with gold, crowned by a distinctive captain’s hat.
Politically ambitious and manipulative, Malves employs arrogance and subterfuge to undermine the Round Table Alliance. During the Libra Festival, he falsely claims delivery of 500 tons of cargo to humiliate Princess Raynesia and destabilize Akiba—a plot foiled when Shiroe forges a letter in his name, exposing the deception.
Later, Malves resurfaces as Touri Saiguu’s representative, coercing Raynesia through a political marriage. He publicly frames her silence as consent to formalize the engagement, operating from Honesty’s guild hall during negotiations between Touri and Shiroe. Though resentful of Shiroe’s past victories, Touri’s authority reduces him to a secondary role.
His strategies often miscalculate opponents’ capabilities: the Libra Festival sabotage assumes logistical limitations Shiroe surpasses, while the marriage plot relies on noble traditions the Adventurers defy. These missteps highlight his overestimation of personal cunning against Akiba’s adaptive leadership.
Malves operates as a provocateur amplifying political tensions through individual ambition rather than coordinated Holy Empire or Plant Hwyaden agendas, positioning him as an agitator within systemic conflicts rather than their architect.
