Description
Ahriman is the Demon King, the supreme ruler of the demon realm and the father of the protagonist, Doux. He holds the title of the mightiest demon lord, having once led armies of darkness on a campaign to conquer numerous worlds, building a fearsome reputation as an undisputed and merciless conqueror. However, his entire identity is defined by the profound contradiction between his terrifying public persona and his private life as a parent.

The core of Ahriman's personality is his role as a doting and devoted father. Despite being a being of immense power and cruelty by nature, his attitude transforms completely when it comes to his daughter. He finds her overwhelming kindness to be a significant problem, so much so that he has put his plans for world domination on hold out of concern that her gentle behavior is unbefitting of a demon princess. His motivations are driven by this paternal concern; he genuinely wants Doux to grow into a proper, fearsome demon who can one day inherit the throne. Paradoxically, he is unable to bring himself to scold her for her good deeds and often ends up congratulating or praising her instead, undermining his own goals. This makes him a loving but ineffectual strict parent, as his own doting nature constantly sabotages the efforts to make his daughter more demonic.

In the story, Ahriman serves as the catalyst for the central comedic conflict. He assigns his loyal and capable aide, Jahi, the task of serving as Doux's mentor to rid her of her kindhearted nature and turn her into a proper, cruel demon. While Jahi executes these plans with determination, Ahriman often appears to observe the results or to deal with the consequences of his daughter's actions. His role is not as an active antagonist but as an authority figure whose genuine love for his child is the source of much of the show's humor. His key relationships are central to the plot. His bond with his daughter Doux is the emotional heart of the series, as he is completely susceptible to her sweetness. He also shares a significant working relationship with Jahi, his trusted secretary and the Demon King's right hand, whom he relies upon to manage the difficult task of training Doux.

While Ahriman does not undergo a dramatic personality shift, his development is revealed through the contrast between his reputation and his actions. The story suggests that Ahriman may not be the purely heartless demon his legend suggests, as his willingness to pause his conquest to focus on his daughter indicates a latent capacity for care that he perhaps did not know he had. He is shown to be a formidable force when necessary, such as when he effortlessly destroys a dungeon boss to rescue his daughter and the hero Ur, proving that his power is absolute even if his parenting style is soft.

Regarding his notable abilities, Ahriman is established as the strongest demon king in the demon world, possessing overwhelming magical power and physical might. He is capable of powerful offensive magic, as demonstrated when he destroys a powerful monster with a single blast, showcasing that his fearsome reputation as a conqueror is well-earned, even if it is rarely displayed in his day-to-day life as a father.
