TV-Series
Description
Jiro Hotta, along with his brother Ichiro, is a character from the spin-off series My Hero Academia: Vigilantes. He is an adult man of average build who physically resembles his brother, sharing similar dark hair, sharp eyes with small pupils, a goatee, and a small bump in the center of his forehead. Jiro has a slightly more square-shaped face and a mustache. He typically wears a white hoodie and dark pants, and both brothers wear an apron with the name of their store and a yellow bandanna tied around their neck.

Jiro and his brother are the shopkeepers of the Recycle Shop Hoppers in the Naruhata district. This business serves as a front for their illegal activities as dealers of a legal version of the drug Trigger, which they market to help with issues like balding and erectile dysfunction, despite lacking a license to sell it. They possess a strong moral code regarding their work and refuse to deal with the adulterated version of Trigger distributed by the Villain Factory, as they know it causes people to become rampaging Instant Villains.

Despite being criminals, Jiro and Ichiro are shown to be helpful and loyal to their acquaintances. They become unwilling informants and confidants for the hero Eraserhead, who allows them to continue their operation in exchange for information on the Trigger black market. They are particularly frustrated that Eraserhead uses their shop as an impromptu base and meeting place with Detective Naomasa, and later become annoyed by the vigilante Koichi Haimawari, who also frequently visits. Jiro and his brother are fans of the pro hero Midnight.

Jiro is motivated to protect his interests and maintain his modest, illegal business. He becomes involved in the central conflict of Vigilantes when he and Ichiro warn their friend Kirihito Kamachi, whom they affectionately call Kamayan, to stay away from the dangerous new Trigger. When Kirihito ignores them and is kidnapped by the Villain Factory, the brothers cooperate with Eraserhead's investigation. They also do not hesitate to help Eraserhead and Koichi when they are in danger during a fight against the powerful villain Octoid, injecting Trigger to fight alongside them. Following this incident, they provide their warehouse to Kirihito as a place to live when his transformed body no longer fits in his apartment.

Jiro possesses a Quirk that, when boosted by Trigger, allows him to transform into a large humanoid grasshopper. In this form, his muscle mass increases, and parts of his body are protected by an exoskeleton. His head resembles that of a grasshopper, complete with jaws, antennae, and compound eyes. He and his brother work together in combat, using cooperative techniques such as the Double Hotta Kick, where they leap into the air and come down with a tandem kick, and the Hotta Jump, used to distract an opponent.
