Description
Number 6, also known as Rokuro Nomura, is the primary antagonist of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes. His background is rooted in tragedy: he was created as a bioengineered test subject by All For One and Dr. Garaki, and he suffers from agnosia, a rare disorder that leaves him unable to form a stable identity or recognize objects and people. Without any innate sense of self, Number 6 was raised as a blank canvas for All For One to mold, and his entire existence revolves around a desperate search for meaning and recognition. This drives his obsessive goal to become the successor of the former Pro Hero O'Clock, whose Quirk, Overclock, he received after All For One stole it from Iwao Oguro. Number 6's personality is fragmented and unstable, shaped by his lack of identity and his need to imitate others. He can adopt different faces and personas, often using a civilian identity designed to resemble the protagonist Koichi Haimawari, and he even obtains a Pro Hero license under the alias Rock or O'Clock II. Despite his attempts to appear heroic, his true nature is cruel, calculating, and deeply insecure, and he views those who threaten his plan—especially Koichi—as obstacles to be eliminated. In the story, Number 6 serves as the masked leader of the Villain Factory, the organization that produces and distributes the Trigger drug. His role expands during the Naruhata Lockdown arc, where he directly confronts Koichi, Pop Step, and Knuckleduster. His relationship with All For One is that of a tool and experiment, though All For One mentors him under the guise of the ideal hero O'Clock. Number 6's key relationships include his rivalry with Koichi, whom he sees as a mirror of his own desire to be a hero, and his connection to the vigilante Knuckleduster, who is the original O'Clock. Over the course of the series, Number 6 undergoes a tragic development: his overuse of his Quirks, mental instability, and failure to secure a true identity lead him to a breaking point. In his final confrontation, overwhelmed by Koichi's success and the cheers of the crowd, he commits suicide, believing he has amounted to nothing. His notable abilities are numerous: Overclock accelerates his perception and reflexes; Self-Detonation allows his body to explode; Regeneration rapidly heals wounds; Radio Waves generate electromagnetic pulses; and Bombify lets him produce bombs inside his body. He can also shapeshift, enabling him to take on any human form, which he uses to infiltrate and manipulate. Number 6's combination of raw power and psychological fragility makes him a complex and tragic villain, and his existence ultimately contributes to the development of the Nomu in the main series.
