Description
Capella Capricorn is a character from the anime and manga series The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch. She is a first-year student at the Royal Diana Magic School and a classmate of the protagonist, Spica Virgo, in the witches' gathering.

Born on December 22nd, Capella is 167 centimeters tall with A-type blood. Her family background is strict and disciplined, as her father works as a government official and her mother is a teacher. She has at least one older brother who is already an adult.

Capella has a rigid and serious personality, a trait shaped by her upbringing in a strict household. Since childhood, she was frequently told by those around her that she was proper and serious. This led her to develop a rebellious spirit and a longing to become a delinquent, as a reaction against this label. However, she does not fully understand what delinquent behavior entails, so she has tried to learn by practicing martial arts and reading crime novels. This sometimes results in her performing nonsensical or extreme actions, such as breaking windows. In moments of crisis, she is known for remaining calm, analyzing the situation, and preparing to fight. While she strives for perfection, she can sometimes lack tact in her interactions with others. She becomes visibly agitated when people describe her as serious or proper.

Despite her frustration with being seen as overly proper, she is a caring and trustworthy leader who is well-respected by her peers. Her primary motivation is tied to her childhood friend and neighbor, Yu. Capella was entrusted by Yu's mother to keep an eye on him. While she believes that Yu is overly idealistic and lacks practical action, she still acknowledges his talents. She is determined to help him find the impetus to act, which becomes a driving force for her participation in key events.

In the story, Capella serves as a supporting character within Spica's social circle. Her abilities earn her a leadership role. After a team member mixed a love potion that affected the group's mental state, Capella was able to step in and dispel the magic. Her composed reaction to this unexpected incident caught the attention of a teacher named Claude, who subsequently appointed her as the team leader. During the midterm exam, she was one of the few students who passed a difficult test involving a griffin's nest. She opted to join a winter training camp, ostensibly to supervise teammates who had failed the exam, but her underlying reason was to stay close to Yu and help him develop greater resolve.

Key relationships define her role in the narrative. Her connection with Yu is longstanding, as they are neighbors and childhood friends. Her relationship with the protagonist, Spica, and other teammates like Hana, Taf, and Keron deepens throughout the story. During the winter training camp, she stood up for Yu when he was mocked by members of the Hercules group. This confrontation became a pivotal moment that allowed Yu to change his passive attitude. Following encounters with the characters Aku and Riger, she and her classmates become close friends who have shared difficult trials together.

Capella possesses a notable magical ability known as Capricorn Magic or Gluttony Magic. This power allows her to devour or consume the magic of others. Her name is derived from the star Capella, and her surname refers to the Capricorn zodiac sign.

She ranks as the fifth most popular character in the series' first official popularity poll.
