Description
Gadhio Lathcutt is an S-rank adventurer from the anime Roll Over and Die who wields earth-element magic and carries a great sword on his back. Despite his rugged appearance, which includes a large frame, brown hair, black eyes, facial stubble, and a notable scar, he is known for his calm, composed, and dependable nature. He typically wears a blue scarf and a dark brown coat, making him easy to spot in a crowd.

Gadhio carries significant emotional weight from his past. Years before the story begins, he formed an elite party of A and S-ranked adventurers, but an incident occurred that killed his wife Thea and most of his friends. Because he was the one who survived, he was given the scornful title Gadhio the Coward, and he holds a great deal of guilt in his heart over these events. Thea and Gadhio had married about a year before the mission that claimed her life. Hallom Yandoura is the only other surviving member of that original party besides Gadhio, and he has since played a role in helping her raise her daughter Kleyna. Kleyna, in turn, sees him as the closest thing she has to a father and affectionately calls him Daddy, much to his embarrassment.

Within the main story, Gadhio is initially introduced as a member of the Hero Party, the group assembled to defeat the Demon Lord. He is one of the few members, alongside Eterna Rinebow, who consistently treats the protagonist Flum Apricot with kindness and respect. He is patient with her and takes time to teach her how to use a sword, lessons that Flum later remembers and applies in life-threatening situations. His friendly nature allows him to get along with a majority of the party, particularly Linus Radiants, but he never feels compelled to remain part of it. After Flum is betrayed by another party member and sold into slavery, and after Eterna leaves as well, Gadhio announces his intention to leave the Hero Party.

Following his departure, Gadhio serves as the Guild Master for the West Quarter Adventurer's Guild. Initially, he does not take the job seriously, which effectively allows corrupt individuals such as Dein Phineas to take control of the district. During this interim period, however, he also investigates the Church of Origin and becomes aware of Flums situation. After Flum escapes slavery and begins to uncover the corruption in the guild, Gadhio picks her up from her house and has her accompany him to the guild, actively protecting her from an assassination attempt. Eventually, following the death of Dein Phineas, Gadhio decides to take his role as Guild Master much more seriously, believing it is the best method to gather information on the Church and to repair the damage he allowed to happen during his absence.

Gadhios most significant relationship is with Flum Apricot. Flum treasures the lessons he taught her about swordplay and equipment, especially cursed equipment. Although the treacherous party member Jean Inteige convinces Flum that Gadhio also wanted to abandon her, she is relieved to learn from Eterna that Gadhio was completely unaware of Jeans plot to sell her into slavery. When they reunite, their relationship is mended, and he continues to look out for her, helping to train her and supporting her household. He treats all members of Flums household well, including the former slave Milkit, and does not look down on anyone for their status. Gadhios motivations are driven by a sense of responsibility, a desire to atone for past inaction, and a genuine willingness to teach those who are willing to learn, sharing his deep knowledge and experience as a veteran adventurer.
