However, a later encounter with another cat reminded him of his past, prompting him to adopt a cat-like appearance. His attachment to cats remains the central force of his personality; he watches over the many cats in the forest and is affectionately known as "Uncle Wing." Over time he gradually warms up to humans, moving from hostility to a more tolerant and protective stance. In the story, Nekoryū serves as the main character, a powerful magical beast whose role evolves from a solitary guardian into a bridge between the feline and human worlds.
