Description
Nekoryū is a dragon who hatched inside a cave where a family of cats lived. The cats raised him as one of their own, and as the years passed and the cats eventually left him, he grew to adulthood while vowing to protect them. After witnessing cats being killed by humans for their fur, Nekoryū flew into a vengeful rage and killed the adventurers responsible for the deaths. However, a later encounter with another cat reminded him of his past, prompting him to adopt a cat-like appearance. His attachment to cats remains the central force of his personality; he watches over the many cats in the forest and is affectionately known as "Uncle Wing." Over time he gradually warms up to humans, moving from hostility to a more tolerant and protective stance. In the story, Nekoryū serves as the main character, a powerful magical beast whose role evolves from a solitary guardian into a bridge between the feline and human worlds. His key relationships include the cat mother who first raised him and the various cats he protects, each with their own personalities and adventures. Through these interactions, Nekoryū develops from a vengeful, solitary figure into one who accepts companionship and begins to trust humans again. His notable abilities include his dragon nature—he is a fire-breathing dragon—and the capacity to shift into a form that resembles a cat, blending draconic power with feline traits.
