Description
Kaiza Akiba is a pivotal character from the anime Ninja vs. Gokudo. He is a 94-year-old master ninja who holds the position of the second seat within the Eight Imperial Ninjas, making him an elder statesman second only to the leader, Zanzo Kazai. Despite his advanced age, he remains sharp-minded and is credited with a unique talent for devising new things, which led him to create the Anba technique.

In his civilian life, Kaiza maintains a quiet existence as the owner of the Davis coffee shop in the Ginza district. He is known for wearing a monocle over his right eye, a visual trait that hints at his hidden identity. His most significant personal relationship is with the protagonist, Shinoha Tanaka, whom he took in and raised as a foster father after Shinoha’s parents were murdered by yakuza. Deeply worried about Shinoha, who lost the ability to smile due to his childhood trauma, Kaiza often tells corny dad jokes such as "the futon flew away" in a gentle but ultimately unsuccessful attempt to bring laughter back into the young man's life.

As the so-called master of all Tokyo ninjas, Kaiza is a formidable warrior who possesses the supernatural ability known as Nyoibo. This technique allows him to freely and swiftly extend his arms, enabling him to instantly behead and kill enemies with a simple swinging motion. His power is immense, earning him praise as a high-performance old man. In the story, he takes a definitive and violent stand against the yakuza by storming a large gathering of their leaders at a restaurant called Kyosho in Akasaka. Using his Blade of Darkness, he decapitates numerous gangsters, bathing the room in crimson.

His rampage is halted by Kiwami Kimura, a formidable yakuza boss who has taken a substance called Ticket to Hell, which grants him enhanced resilience. Kaiza is mortally wounded in the ensuing one-on-one fight by gunshots and a knife. Accepting his fate, he uses his last bit of strength to self-destruct with a hidden bomb, taking many yakuza with him. However, the core members of the yakuza group survive because they had also taken Ticket to Hell beforehand. Following his death, his remains are ground up and displayed with a dagger stabbed into them as a gruesome provocation against the ninja. Beyond the main storyline, his younger self is depicted in the spin-off titled Lion's Flower, which shows him at age twenty in 1945, running a coffee shop in a post-war shack, developing the Anba technique, and depicting his friendship with Shimon Kimura as well as his survival of the Tokyo air raids.
