Description
Hyemon Scar is a Child-level, Beast-type Digimon introduced in the anime Digimon Beatbreak. He is one of two notable members of the Hyemon species featured in the series, distinguished from his counterpart, Hyemon Pierce, by the presence of a prominent scar on his body. As a member of the Hyemon species, he possesses sharp fangs and powerful jaw muscles capable of biting through materials as hard as metal. His species is known for cunning hunting tactics and living in packs, traits that are reflected in his own behavior.

In the narrative of Digimon Beatbreak, Hyemon Scar is portrayed as the larger and seemingly elder of the two Hyemon brothers, with Pierce frequently addressing him with familial respect. Scar is first encountered aggressively pursuing the protagonist, Tomoro Tenma, with the intent of obtaining his unique e-Pulse energy. He initially attempts to bite Tomoro directly but is thwarted by the intervention of Gekkomon. During this encounter, he instead successfully absorbs the e-Pulse from Tomoro’s brother, Asuka Tenma, before both he and Asuka fall into the water, causing a temporary retreat.

Scar returns in the following episode, displaying a persistent and aggressive drive to fulfill his objective. Enraged by the interference of the Glowing Dawn organization, he attempts to use the e-Pulse he absorbed from Asuka to force an evolution into a more powerful form. This moment represents his primary motivation: the acquisition of e-Pulse to increase his own strength and power. However, his ambition is abruptly and lethally cut short when a mysterious ape-like Digimon (later identified as Gokuwmon) intervenes, piercing Scar through the chest and deleting him. This sudden destruction serves as a critical plot point early in the series, demonstrating the high stakes and introducing a new, powerful threat. Pierce, witnessing his brother's death, is horrified and flees.

Personality-wise, Scar exhibits traits of a brutish predator, characterized by his aggressive, straightforward, and relentless pursuit of prey. While he appears to work in tandem with Pierce, he takes the lead in direct confrontations, showing a more dominant and ferocious demeanor. His motivation is primarily survival and power advancement through consuming the e-Pulse of others, a common goal for antagonistic Digimon in the series' early episodes.

Key relationships are central to his limited role. His bond with Hyemon Pierce is the most significant, operating as a predatory sibling pair. Pierce looks up to him, creating a dynamic where Scar’s death directly fuels Pierce’s later actions and desire for revenge. Scar’s adversary relationship with Tomoro Tenma and Gekkomon establishes the initial conflict of the story, while his interaction with Asuka Tenma makes him instrumental in the family tragedy that drives the protagonist.

Scar's development is cut short by his early death, making his narrative purpose primarily one of catalyst. He serves as an immediate physical threat that forces the protagonists into action and his brutal deletion sets in motion the emotional arc for Hyemon Pierce, who later digivolves into Fangmon. His final notable act is a failed attempt to digivolve, highlighting the danger of unregulated e-Pulse absorption.

Regarding abilities, as a Hyemon, Scar has access to species-standard techniques. His primary physical attack is called "Cursed Bite" (Kasu Baito), a powerful chomp using his exceptionally strong jaws. He can also unleash a "Release Howling" (Rirīsu Hauringu), a roar that temporarily enhances the physical capabilities of nearby Hyemon, a skill designed for pack coordination. Although not successful on screen, his capability to absorb e-Pulse and attempt a burst evolution demonstrates his potential for growth and the inherent danger of his kind.
