Description
Yoichi Himukai, commonly called Yoichi, serves as a Judge in the Magic Law Association and shares a childhood bond with Toru Muhyo. He trained alongside Muhyo, Enchu, and Biko at Magic Law School under instructors Rio Kurotori and Page Klaus. Academically unremarkable during his studies, Yoichi frequently depended on Enchu for assignments while maintaining close friendships with the group. He later regretted overlooking Enchu's spiral into grief and forbidden magic, which catalyzed Enchu's transformation and departure. This remorse drove Yoichi to investigate Enchu’s activities for two years, collaborating with Muhyo through intelligence sharing.
Yoichi exhibits a multifaceted personality, displaying overtly lecherous tendencies such as groping women's breasts—notably Nana Takenouchi's—and asserting he can discern bra sizes through touch. He harbors an attraction to Nana, who responds with aversion. Despite these traits, he balances them with intense focus, strategic intellect, and wisdom, earning the title "Prince of Magic Law" for his judicial expertise. Proficient in all Magical Law disciplines except Execution, he refined his speed and tactical acumen after observing Muhyo's growth. Yoichi once volunteered to be Muhyo’s partner but was declined in favor of Jiro "Roji" Kusano—a rejection he referenced resentfully during a crisis.
After returning to Magic Law School, Yoichi encountered Muhyo and Roji during an exam. When Enchu unleashed a panic curse, Yoichi became patient zero, inadvertently infecting others like Nana and Roji while suffering a neck injury. During the Magic Prison arc, he investigated Rio Kurotori’s alleged betrayal. Discovering her scorched home and diary, he unearthed evidence of her forbidden magic use and rescued Biko from Rio’s assault. He aided Roji in evacuating casualties and erected protective wards to shield allies.
In the Magic Law School invasion, Yoichi devised impromptu tactics against Enchu’s ally Buhpu and his puppets. Teaming with Judge Imai and Assistant Judge Ginji, he aimed to prove to Enchu that judicial methods—not forbidden magic—could offer salvation, ultimately enabling Enchu’s rescue. Despite this, Yoichi mourned Enchu’s indefinite confinement in the Arcanum and retained hope that Muhyo might someday accept him as a partner.
Physically, Yoichi has shoulder-length black hair often tied by a headband, gray eyes with black pupils, and stands 173 cm tall.
