Description
Maya Biggs is a supporting character introduced in the fourth season of Dr. Stone, Dr. Stone: Science Future. Before the petrification event, she served as a member of the United States special forces and was the undefeated national champion in martial arts, having never lost a competitive match. Her background as a top-tier fighter and soldier makes her one of the most physically formidable individuals in the stone world.
Maya is a very large woman with an olive complexion, a muscular and shapely figure, and long curly black hair that parts in the middle. She has a straightforward and somewhat simple outlook on life, often lacking a deep grasp of complex concepts like finances. Evidence of this is that after winning enough money to retire early, she spent all of it on food and went bankrupt, revealing her impulsive and carefree nature. She possesses a bottomless appetite for meat and can be very single-minded when focused on her immediate desires.
Her motivations are largely driven by her loyalty to her group and her love of physical activity, especially combat and eating. She joins the American Colony, a group of revived people led by Dr. Xeno and Stanley Snyder, and initially opposes the Kingdom of Science. However, after the second worldwide petrification event and the subsequent revival efforts, she becomes an ally to Senku and his team. Her role in the story is primarily that of a powerhouse fighter and later a helper in the construction of the rocket to travel to the moon.
Maya develops a friendly rapport with Taiju Oki, as their personalities are similarly uncomplicated and straightforward. She also works alongside other physically strong characters, pulling her weight in manual labor and defensive tasks. Her key relationships are with the other members of the American Colony, especially Stanley, and later with the Kingdom of Science characters she comes to cooperate with.
In terms of abilities, Maya is an exceptional hand-to-hand combatant, with her martial arts skills making her nearly unbeatable in unarmed combat. Her military training also provides her with tactical knowledge and strength. She is able to endure and dish out heavy physical damage, and later in the series, she uses her physical prowess to assist in the heavy lifting required for building the spaceship. Her growth is marked by her transition from a simple soldier following orders to a more integrated member of the global scientific effort, though her fundamental personality remains unchanged.
