Description
Hanao Ebisu is a Judge in the Magic Law Association and the long-serving assistant to Executor Daranimaru Goryo within the Goryo Office of Magical Law, a role he has dedicated himself to for over a decade. His unstable childhood involved moving between orphanages and enduring bullying, leading to a period of crime where he committed burglary and theft. He misused his innate medium abilities during this time, employing spirits to aid his break-ins. A pivotal moment occurred when a magical law practitioner severely injured one of his spirits; the spirit retaliated by draining nearly all his spiritual energy. Left weakened and near death for two days, he was rescued by Daranimaru Goryo, an event forging his profound, lifelong loyalty.

Physically short with brown hair and eyes, Hanao possesses a distinctive blue nose and a wooden doll-like appearance, typically dressed in a blue cape with a red bow. His personality centers on absolute devotion to Goryo, including a willingness to sacrifice his life. He demonstrated this when nearly dying to save Goryo from a half-gast transformation inflicted by Tomas, an act contributing to Goryo's redemption and softening their relationship. Despite enduring past mistreatment, such as being fired by Goryo during a conflict with executor Ivy, Hanao's commitment remained unwavering.

His abilities focus on supportive magical techniques and tools, including Abhijñā Needles, Exorcism Pills, and Spirit Magnetic Attraction Circles. He also knows the forbidden Ren Injection technique, which transfers spiritual energy at great personal risk. Professionally, he meticulously manages Goryo's daily affairs: scheduling, transportation, meal preparation, and attire. He is an early riser and does not require an alarm clock.

Hanao suffers from claustrophobia and acrophobia (fear of heights). He dislikes the smell of rain and becomes anxious around an angry Goryo. His favorite foods include ramen, Chinese meat buns, taiyaki, takoyaki, and okonomiyaki.
