Description
Kanayama Taguri is a local deity presiding over metals, eternally youthful in appearance with short blonde hair and nearly perpetually closed eyes. She typically displays a serene, polite, and lighthearted demeanor, yet harbors a shrewd and calculating nature, strategically leveraging opportunities for personal gain or amusement. Taguri operates a financially driven system, charging fees for trivial services and extending loans with unconventional repayment terms. This practice earns her the nickname "money-grubbing god" from characters like Kazuya Kagami. Despite this, she exhibits protective instincts, particularly toward children, rescuing Kokuyou from Mayoiga assassins and expressing violent disdain for those threatening Kukuri.

A defining trait is her sexual attraction toward young girls, specifically Kukuri in her childlike form. She repeatedly offers large sums of money to "play" with Kukuri, leading to situations where Kukuri is coerced into bathing with her as loan collateral. This behavior extends to others transformed into child forms, such as Madarai, whom she forces into servitude to repay a debt and subjects to similar bathing and fondling. Her motivations blend genuine concern for Kukuri's safety with exploitative tendencies, evidenced when she tortures assassins targeting Kukuri and later manipulates Ouna Oriobana by fondling her under the guise of arm rehabilitation.

Her history involves longstanding interactions with other deities, notably Kukuri, whom she financially supports while imposing burdensome conditions. During the Mayoiga Revolt Arc, she actively defends Kamioka, joining battles against invading tsukumogami. She eliminates assassins Senga and Jungou with minimal effort, showcasing significant combat prowess. In the climactic confrontation with the resurrected Kanaka Kagami, she suffers severe injuries including the loss of her left arm, but survives. Post-battle, her arm is reattached by a moth-like entity. She continues manipulative activities, such as inviting Ouna to her shrine to reveal Kasumi's enshrinement of Kukuri's body.

Taguri wields authority over all metals, granting precise manipulation abilities and exceptional perception like detecting minute fingerprints or imperfections. Her combat style involves analytical observation before decisive strikes, employing techniques like Diamond Prism (金剛宝玉), manifesting as floating geometric constructs. Key attacks include Diamond Falling Blossom (金剛落華), launching the prism directly; Diamond Hammer (金剛槌), driving it downward; Diamond Battering Ram (金剛破城槌), extending the prism's core with overwhelming force; Flowing Iron Sand (鉄穴流), firing energy blasts; and Six Steel Barriers (六鋼結界), creating smaller prismatic barriers for containment. These abilities render her nearly invincible against ordinary foes, though she acknowledges superior combatants like Kanaka.

Her narrative spans critical arcs: In the Local Exorcist Arc, she imposes a humiliating "concentration game" on Kukuri and Kiriha to secure a loan. During the Mayoiga Revolt Arc, she coordinates defenses against tsukumogami insurgents and participates in the Hakusan shrine battle, where Azami ambushes her. Later, in the Kazuya's Partners Arc, she exploits Madarai's debt and new childlike body, assigning chores and subjecting him to bathing rituals while disregarding his disaster warnings. Her actions consistently reflect a blend of altruistic intervention and self-serving manipulation, cementing her role as a morally ambiguous yet pivotal figure in Kamioka's supernatural conflicts.
