Description
Alice Okanega is a fourteen-year-old girl from a family of immense wealth and privilege. She has blonde hair and bright blue eyes, and a small fang is visible when she opens her mouth. She typically wears blue hair ribbons and a golden hair comb with a cyan gem to hold her ponytail. Her school attire consists of a turquoise dress with long white sleeves, a black belt with a golden buckle, and a large light blue bow tie. Alice is the granddaughter of Kawaii Nosky, the legendary creator of the world-famous mascot character Cutie-chan. Her father runs a major international toy company, while her mother is physically weak, which has distanced their relationship. Raised in a mansion under the care of her head maid, Hodai, Alice has had little exposure to the outside world and can be easily impressed by ordinary things. She is proud, ambitious, and speaks with formal tones befitting a wealthy heiress, though she is willing to help others with their personal problems. Her greatest passion is her own original character, a stuffed toy mouse mascot named Rune Rune, created by Hodai based on a drawing from Alice’s childhood. Rune Rune is her most treasured companion, and her primary motivation is to prove that Rune Rune is cuter than Cutie-chan and share its cuteness with the world. In the story, she is a classmate of Kotaro Kawaii and a friendly rival to the living slime Puniru, whom she envies because Puniru is a sentient creature, something she wishes for Rune Rune. Despite their rivalry, she and Puniru are good friends. Alice undergoes an identity crisis when a magical humanoid version of Rune Rune is revealed to be imperfect, leading her to confront her role as a creator and learn that her worth is not defined solely by others’ expectations. Thanks to her family’s fortune, she has a refined aesthetic sense, skill in business management, and the ability to materialize extravagant ideas, such as building a theme park in the schoolyard.
