Kokoro Shigure is a first-year middle school student at Hanamichi Middle School and one of the main protagonists of You and Idol Precure♪. She transforms into Cure Kyun-Kyun. Kokoro has purple hair and eyes and is often seen wearing a hoodie and skirt with twin ponytails and an ahoge. She is skilled at dancing but tends to keep her talent and her passionate feelings hidden from others. Her personality is introverted and shy, especially when interacting with people she does not know well, yet she becomes very animated when discussing her favorite things. She is a devoted fan of the Idol Pretty Cure, particularly Cure Idol and Cure Wink, and initially struggles with feelings of inadequacy when she compares herself to them. Kokoro's motivation stems from her desire to support the Precure and to find the courage to express her true self. After meeting the fairy Purirun and witnessing the Cures in action, she resolves to become part of their team. She is eventually entrusted with an Idol Heart Brooch and transforms into Cure Kyun-Kyun, joining Uta Sakura and Nana Aokaze in their fight against Team Chokkiri. Her catchphrase is "My heart is pounding!" Kokoro's relationships with her teammates are central to her growth. She looks up to Uta and Nana with deep respect, referring to them as seniors, and they in turn encourage her to believe in herself. She also forms a close bond with the fairies Purirun and Meroron, who help guide her. Throughout the series, Kokoro develops from a shy, self-doubting fan into a more confident and open individual. She learns to be honest about her emotions and to take pride in her dancing. Her role as Cure Kyun-Kyun allows her to channel her love of dance into battle. In her civilian form, she is an accomplished dancer. As a Precure, she uses the Kyun-Kyun Pose as a fan service move and commands attacks such as Kyun-Kyun Beat and Kyun-Kyun Laser, which are infused with rhythm and energy. Her abilities reflect her inner passion and her desire to bring joy to others.
