Description
Yeo Miseng is a D-Rank Regular who climbs the Tower of God in search of her parents. She belongs to the same family line as Yeo Goseng, though the exact nature of that family is not publicly known. She enters the story during the second season of the anime, which covers the Return of the Prince and Workshop Battle arcs, and is first seen on the 20th floor waiting for the re‑screening test alongside other Regulars such as Ja Wangnan, Viole, Kang Horyang, Goseng, and Hon Akraptor.
Miseng initially comes across as timid and insecure. She tends to doubt herself and often looks to others for reassurance, which can make her seem hesitant or anxious. Despite this, she possesses a strong inner determination to overcome her weaknesses and to grow stronger. She is kind‑hearted and empathetic, and she values the bonds she forms with her teammates. Her loyalty is fierce once she trusts someone, and she is willing to put herself at risk to protect those she cares about.
Her primary motivation for climbing the Tower is to find her missing parents. This personal goal drives her to keep pushing forward even when she feels outmatched. She also wants to become genuinely capable, not just to survive but to be a reliable member of any team she joins. During the Workshop Battle arc, she struggles to keep up with the higher‑level threats she encounters. After the events on the 30th floor, she actively seeks ways to increase her power output without losing control. She asks Verdi for help and eventually learns about a special seed that allows her to tap into a burst‑type ability, which suits her natural talent for intense, short‑lived surges of strength.
In terms of abilities, Miseng is classified as a Scout, a position that emphasizes speed, reconnaissance, and quick strikes. She has a natural aptitude for using sudden bursts of shinsu, which manifests in a technique she calls Berserker Mode. When activated, her attack power and speed increase dramatically, and she gains immunity to status effects for a short time. Her fighting style revolves around delivering a powerful opening blow to disorient or stun opponents, then following up with rapid‑fire punches. She can also activate a Reflection Mode that greatly raises her resistance to ranged attacks and reflects a portion of the damage back at the attacker. These techniques are demanding and, early on, she struggles to use them without overheating or exhausting herself. Later, with training and the aid of the seed, she learns to manage that risk better.
Key relationships include her friendship with Ja Wangnan, who treats her as an equal and encourages her to believe in herself. She also works closely with Goseng, who shares her family name and serves as a kind of older‑sister figure. Hon Akraptor and Prince are other members of their group, and she comes to trust them during the trials on the 20th and 30th floors. Her interaction with Verdi, a more experienced Regular, is crucial to her development because Verdi helps her find a method to harness her power safely.
Her character development is most noticeable after the Workshop Battle. She begins as a shy, self‑doubting girl who feels like a burden, but through her experiences in battle and the support of her team, she gains confidence. She becomes more willing to speak her mind and take initiative, though she never completely loses her underlying caution. She continues to climb the Tower, eventually reaching the Hell Express en route to the 43rd floor, still carrying her search for her parents and her desire to become a stronger, more dependable Regular.
