Description
Goseng, whose full name is Yeo Goseng, is a character who appears during the Workshop Battle arc as a member of Team Tangsooyook, a group of Regulars climbing the Tower together. She is a young woman with a distinctive appearance, always tying her hair in a ponytail and wearing a pair of very large, round glasses that cover a significant portion of her face, making her eyes impossible to see. Her position within the team is that of a Light Bearer, a role that involves using Lighthouses to gather information, analyze the battlefield, and provide tactical support to teammates.

Personality-wise, Goseng comes across as one of the more mature and level-headed members of her often chaotic team. She has a strong protective instinct, especially toward the much younger Yeo Miseng, who shares her surname and is implied to be a close relative such as a cousin. She frequently acts as a voice of reason, scolding the more impulsive members like Ja Wangnan when their behavior is inappropriate and calming the group in tense situations. Goseng is also notably perceptive; she was the only member of the team to immediately recognize the dangerous FUG Slayer symbol on the coat of her teammate, Jyu Viole Grace, an observation that revealed the gravity of his identity to the others. Despite her composed exterior, Goseng often struggles with self-doubt about her own abilities as a Regular, feeling that she has progressed through luck rather than skill. Her initial motivation for taking the test on the 20th Floor was not to advance, but to face a final, likely failed attempt and finally give up on climbing the Tower, having grown weary of its dangers and betrayals. However, the bonds she formed with her new teammates gave her a renewed sense of purpose.

In the story of the Workshop Battle on the 30th Floor, Goseng plays a supportive role. During the Plug event, a deadly team competition, she is placed in a group and is initially startled by the violence, but is protected by her teammate Kang Horyang, for whom she harbors a deep affection. Her most significant moment comes after the battle when Horyang falls into a coma after his Devil is stolen. Demonstrating her loyalty and care, Goseng selflessly volunteers to remain behind on the 30th Floor to nurse him, choosing to put her own climbing journey on hold indefinitely while the rest of her team continues upward. She is one of the few members who is let in on the secret of Horyang's condition to prevent the others from worrying, further showing her trustworthiness.

Her key relationships are central to her character. She is exceptionally close to Miseng, acting as an older sister who looks out for her constantly. Her relationship with Horyang is significant; while not outwardly dramatic, she cares for him deeply, waiting up for him at night and eventually sacrificing her climb to care for him. Within Team Tangsooyook, she respects Wangnan's determination despite frequently scolding him, and she holds a healthy wariness of the brilliant but intimidating Khun Aguero Agnis when he joins the team, noting that his confidence leaves little room for refusal.

Goseng's character shows a modest but meaningful development over the course of the arc. She begins as a depressed individual who has nearly given up on her dream, but her experiences with her new family of regulars ignite a will to fight and improve. Although she lacks confidence in her combat skills compared to powerhouses like Horyang or Viole, she works hard to hone her abilities as a Light Bearer under Khun's intense training. In terms of abilities, Goseng is a skilled Light Bearer, proficient enough to use at least four Lighthouses simultaneously. She can perform advanced Shinsoo manipulation techniques using her Lighthouses, including Flow Control to restrict enemy movements and the more powerful Centripetal Pressure Control, which uses a central Lighthouse as a focal point to trap and neutralize multiple enemies at once.
