Description
Alflamme is the prince of the powerful military empire known as Vankish, a nation renowned for its formidable air force and its connection to dragons. As a central secondary character in the story, he is introduced as a warrior of significant strength who takes a keen interest in the protagonist, Scarlet, after witnessing her combat prowess. His constant companion is a dragon named Rex, and the two are often seen fighting together.

In terms of personality, Alflamme is characterized as an earnest and sincere individual, but these positive traits are tempered by his nature as a gung-ho moron who lacks a filter for his thoughts. He has a well-known tendency to speak without thinking, often irritating those around him, including Scarlet, though he is self-aware enough to acknowledge this flaw. A defining aspect of his character is his pure and uncomplicated love for battle. In this regard, he finds a genuine connection with Scarlet, as they share the same fundamental enjoyment of a good fight. However, his inability to read the room and his constant chattering prevent him from ever becoming a serious romantic contender for her, establishing him as a respected comrade rather than a love interest.

Alflamme's primary motivation is political ambition. He seeks to claim the throne of the Vankish Empire and enters into a strategic negotiation with the nation of Pallistan to achieve this goal. His proposal is straightforward: he will lend his nation's powerful air force to help Pallistan defend itself against a massive monster horde, and in exchange, he demands Pallistan's support for his bid to become emperor. This alliance brings him directly into the main plot, as he and Scarlet team up to battle the monstrous threat. In combat, he proves to be a reckless powerhouse, famously leaping from his dragon and igniting his own body to explode into the midst of enemy forces.

His relationship with Scarlet is the most significant in the story. It is built on mutual respect for each other's strength, though Scarlet often finds him exasperating. Their dynamic is such that she feels a grudging affection for him, but he remains at arm's length, a position he seems to accept. He also develops a light-hearted rivalry with Scarlet's brother, Prince Julius, whom he seems excited to antagonize, viewing him as a competitor for Scarlet's attention.

Alflamme possesses several notable abilities that make him a formidable fighter. He has been blessed by the God of Steel Meteor, an endowment that infuses his body with metal, granting him superhuman durability that allows him to withstand tremendous blows. Despite this blessing, he is not invincible. A key vulnerability is that his brain was not infused with the same protection, leaving him susceptible to concussions from powerful strikes to the head. Furthermore, his divine blessing has limits; in a prolonged and brutal fight, Scarlet was able to hit him so many times that the blessing eventually wore off entirely, rendering him as vulnerable as an ordinary person. He also demonstrates the ability to set his body on fire as an offensive tactic, suggesting other combat techniques beyond his steel blessing.
