TV-Series
Description
Makoto Hōjō is a high school student and the class president at the school where the events of Room of Guilty Pleasure take place. She is approximately seventeen years old. On the surface, she is a quiet girl who prefers to study during break times, a habit that keeps others at a distance and helps her avoid social interactions. This reserved exterior contrasts sharply with the role she plays within the story’s supernatural premise. She becomes one of the students selectable through the Guilty Hole, a mysterious panel that allows the protagonist, Mamoru Sasaki, to initiate forbidden encounters. When selected, the ordinary social hierarchies of the school are temporarily suspended, enabling interactions that would otherwise be impossible. Makoto’s involvement begins subtly but gradually escalates as the influence of the Guilty Hole spreads, drawing more students into its network. Her character serves to explore hidden desires and challenge the rigid academic environment, making her a key figure in the escalating clandestine activities. Her relationships are primarily defined by her connection to Sasaki through the selection process, as well as an unspoken bond with the other students who share this secret. While she does not possess any special abilities, her personality is designed to clash with the strict school atmosphere, making her a standout among her peers. Throughout the series, her participation deepens, reflecting the growing tension and the blurring of boundaries between the ordinary school day and the hidden world of the Guilty Hole.
