TV Special
Description
Kinta is a young boy who becomes the resident blacksmith for the group banished to Hinoe Island. He is a war orphan who lost his parents and was separated from his older sister, a traumatic past that forced him to survive by thieving and deception in the countryside before the events of the story. His upbringing led to a rough-edged, abrasive, and ill-mannered exterior, and he is known for his sharp tongue, cheeky remarks, and causing minor trouble, such as sneaking food. He often finds himself being chased by Yui for his troublesome behavior and takes a stern attitude toward the younger boy Kaimaru.

Despite his brash demeanor, Kinta possesses a deep, genuine interest in craftsmanship and shows remarkable natural talent for it, particularly as a smith. His passion for blacksmithing is a core part of his identity; he is driven by a constant desire to improve and become the best blacksmith in all the land. He is honest and has no fear of voicing his opinions, which often leads him to butt heads with other strong-willed individuals, including the goddess Sakuna herself, whom he initially believes abuses her status. However, he is also more than capable of being earnest and reflecting on his actions, showing a straightforward and honest side that allows him to grow and earn respect over time.

In the story, Kinta is a collaborator to Sakuna, taking charge of blacksmithing at the base after receiving teachings from the master swordsman Ashigumo. He crafts essential tools for the farm, such as hoes and sickles, as well as weapons for Sakuna to use in battle, provided she brings him the necessary materials. His role becomes even more significant when the high-ranking goddess Kokorowa arrives; Kinta respects her immediately, and they collaborate on new mechanical tools for the farm and the reconstruction of a new forge. His relationships with others evolve throughout the story. Although he frequently clashes with Sakuna and the farmer Tauemon due to their fiery and honest natures, he eventually comes to value their hard work and treat them with mutual respect. Similarly, while he finds Yui's constant attention bothersome, he understands her kind nature and treats her accordingly.

Kinta's personal development is closely tied to his craft. As he dedicates himself to long hours at the forge, he begins to notice his hammer filling with light, a sign that his skill is reaching divine levels, though he initially disregards this phenomenon. This culmination of his hard work and dedication leads to a significant milestone when he finally creates his own sword. His notable ability is his world-class talent for smithing, which proves vital for the community's survival and dungeon exploration, as creating more powerful weapons is key to overcoming challenges. When sent on gathering missions, he has a particular knack for finding ores, rocks, and minerals.
