Description
Anqqi is the president of the junk dealer Kaneban Co., Ltd., operating out of the Izuma colony in Side 6. She is a woman in her mid-thirties, having been born in the Principality of Zeon before relocating to the frontier colony. Her official business involves the buying and selling of mobile suit parts, but this is merely a front for her more extensive and lucrative ventures into the world of illegal mobile suit battles known as Clan Battles. She acts as the leader and organizer of the Pomeranian team, which participates in these high-stakes underground fights.

In personality, Anqqi is a quintessential big-sister figure who combines a tough, pragmatic exterior with a genuine, caring nature for those she considers part of her group. She is a natural leader and a realist, projecting a calm and unwavering demeanor even in the face of danger. While she possesses a strong sense of loyalty and responsibility toward her team, her decisions are always grounded in a calculated assessment of risk and reward, showing a clear understanding of the harsh realities of her environment. Having been married and divorced in the past, her life experiences have shaped a self-reliant and cautious worldview; she ultimately trusts only her own judgment and her closest associates. She is known to be wary of all major political powers, believing that neither the Principality of Zeon nor the frontier colonies can offer true freedom to the citizens of space.

Anqqi's primary motivation is the survival and prosperity of her business and her people, navigating the gray areas of the law to maintain her position. Her most significant role in the story is as the catalyst who discovers the hidden potential of the protagonist, Amate Yuzuriha. Recognizing Amate's extraordinary talent as a mobile suit pilot, Anqqi recruits her to join the Clan Battles, setting the narrative in motion. Her sharp eye for talent is one of her most notable abilities, allowing her to spot promising individuals who others might overlook. Beyond her talent-scouting abilities, she possesses extensive knowledge of mobile suits and their valuable components, is skilled in psychological manipulation and information warfare, and is clearly accustomed to handling firearms, which she uses to protect herself and her interests.

Regarding key relationships, Anqqi acts as a mentor and protector to Amate, offering guidance and support, though this relationship is tested when Amate's personal goals conflict with Anqqi's more pragmatic advice. She shares a deep, old friendship with Shiiro Sugai, a former Federation soldier, and knows intimate details about her past. Within her own team, she places particular trust in her subordinate Navu, entrusting him with sensitive information and plans. Conversely, she maintains a cautious and adversarial stance toward Challia Bull, a rival she is prepared to confront directly when necessary.

Over the course of the story, Anqqi demonstrates a willingness to make difficult, morally ambiguous decisions. When faced with overwhelming pressure from powerful adversaries like Challia Bull, she makes the calculated choice to secretly share information about the Red Gundam's location and prepare to evacuate her own base, prioritizing the survival of herself and her team. A pivotal moment in her development is her confrontation with Amate, when the young pilot attempts to steal money to follow a companion. Anqqi, having anticipated this betrayal, intercepts her and uses a gun to force her to reconsider. Her stern advice, "Don't throw your life away for a man," reveals her deep-seated belief in self-preservation and practicality, even as she ultimately allows Amate to leave, recognizing she cannot change the girl's path.
