Description
Noderabō, also known as the poverty-stricken monk, is a small yōkai dressed in tattered monk's robes. He serves as one of the many supernatural beings attached to the Nagasakiya household, acting as an information gatherer and a reliable assistant to the young master, Ichitarō. His primary role in the story is to collect news and intelligence from around Edo, swiftly relaying useful information to Ichitarō and his other allies. He often works alongside Kawauso, the otter yōkai, and the two cooperate in their tasks. Though his background is not deeply explored, his motivation stems from loyalty to Ichitarō and a desire to be useful. He does not undergo significant development over the course of the narrative, remaining a steady, dependable presence. His notable ability is his talent for scouting and gathering information, which supports the household's efforts in solving mysteries and navigating the hidden world of yōkai.
