Description
Lufas Maphaahl is a central figure in the world of Midgard, originally a legendary character from the MMORPG Exgate Online and later the physical form inhabited by a modern gamer. In the game's history, she was known as the Black-Winged Overlord, the Great Conqueror, and the leader of the elite group called the Twelve Heavenly Stars. She belonged to the Heaven-Winged race, also referred to as Flugel, and possessed black wings that marked her as an exceptionally powerful and forbidden being. Two hundred years before the main story, she unified the entire world under a single rule, dividing it into two major factions: her own Conqueror's Army and the Army of Light led by the Seven Heroes. After a series of fierce battles, the Heroes defeated her and sealed her away in sub-space, ending her era of conquest.

The story begins when a top-tier player of Exgate Online, who controlled the avatar of Lufas, participates in a player-driven final battle where the avatar is intentionally defeated by other players playing as the Heroes. After the battle, the player receives an unusual in-game message from the Goddess of Creation, Alovenus, offering a new role. Upon accepting, the player is transported into the real world of Midgard two hundred years after Lufas's defeat and wakes up in her body. The player must now navigate the world as Lufas, bearing the weight of her infamous reputation as a tyrant.

In terms of personality, Lufas presents a complex duality. As a historical figure, she is feared and remembered as a ruthless conqueror, the Black-Winged Tyrant whose reign was marked by terror. However, the consciousness inhabiting her body is that of a modern gamer who is not interested in repeating her tyrannical past. This inner personality is described as relaxed, goofy, and generous toward allies, with a tendency to prefer straightforward physical solutions over elaborate schemes. She is fundamentally soft on those she considers her people and displays a muscle-headed optimism. Despite her overwhelming power, she does not seek to dominate as before and instead aims to understand the current state of the world and protect it from greater threats.

Lufas's primary motivation is to find answers about her summoning and to locate her former subordinates, the Twelve Heavenly Stars, who have gone on rampages in her absence. She also seeks to counter the influence of the Goddess Alovenus, who manipulates the world as if it were a story written for her own entertainment. Lufas gradually accepts her role as a counterforce against this divine manipulation, transitioning from a confused player in a villain's body into a proactive leader who strives to change the fate set for her.

Her role in the story is that of a protagonist who subverts the typical isekai power fantasy. She begins with god-like stats and a legendary reputation, but instead of conquering, she must reconcile her human memories with Lufas's historical legacy. She travels across Exgate to stop the rampaging Twelve Heavenly Stars, confront the Demon King Orm who threatens the world, and ultimately stand against Alovenus, the supreme deity who created and controls Midgard. Lufas acts as a unifying figure for her old allies and a destabilizing force against the predetermined script of the world.

Key relationships include her advisor Dina, a highly skilled magic user who claims to have waited two centuries for Lufas's return. Dina possesses knowledge beyond normal inhabitants and serves as Lufas's primary strategist, though her true origins and loyalties are complex, creating a central narrative tension. The Twelve Heavenly Stars are Lufas's former elite generals and direct subordinates, most of whom were rare monsters or event bosses she tamed using her Monster Taming skill. Among them are Aries, a gentle sheep-like monster with immense fire magic; Libra, a mechanical golem who serves as a maid and heavy artillery specialist; and many others who each maintain absolute loyalty to Lufas. She also forms an alliance with Orm, the Demon King who rebels against the Goddess, and encounters Mars, a young man summoned as a Hero who becomes a traveling companion and learns the true history of the world from her. Her antagonistic relationship with Alovenus, who treats the world as her story, defines the overarching conflict.

Throughout her journey, Lufas undergoes significant development. She starts as a bewildered player who simply wants to figure out why she was brought to this world, but she grows into a determined leader who actively works to break the script imposed by Alovenus. She learns to wield her inherited power responsibly, reconciles the gamer's memories with the historical Lufas's legacy, and evolves from being feared as a tyrant into a protector who seeks redemption and balance. Her arc involves tempering her brute-force tendencies with strategic thinking and forming genuine bonds with her subordinates beyond mere command.

Notable abilities include overwhelming physical strength, speed, and magical power that place her among the most powerful beings in the world. As a Heaven-Winged being with forbidden black wings, she possesses a regal and charismatic presence. She is a master of alchemy and has a Monster Taming skill that allowed her to recruit powerful creatures into her service. At her peak, Lufas has access to abilities such as Plot Manipulation, which allows her to overwrite the world's settings and scenarios in a manner similar to Alovenus herself. She is also capable of using devastating attacks in combat, such as the Brachium laser technique demonstrated by her subordinate Libra, though Lufas's own offensive power is said to be even greater. Her overall power is so immense that she is considered an unofficial last boss, a threat that can challenge even the goddess's control over reality.
