TV-Series
Description
M. Nostradamus is a male character in Petals of Reincarnation, a wanderer who is the reincarnation of the historical prophet Nostradamus. He is visually distinguished by his plague-mask and wanderer’s attire, evoking a medieval physician’s look consistent with his real-world counterpart’s profession as an apothecary and doctor. Within the story, he belongs to the Sinners, an organization of reincarnated historical figures who use their abilities for destructive or self-serving ends. He serves as a minor antagonist and a strategist for the group.

His personality is defined by evasiveness and scheming. He is a planner who relies on foreknowledge rather than direct confrontation, and his prophecies are both unreliable and dangerous — they come true, but often in ways he does not fully control or foresee. This creates a tension between his desire to manipulate events and the chaotic outcomes of his predictions.

His central motivation is survival and the attempt to escape his own foretold death. After seeing how he would live and die in his Tome of Prophecy, he sought to alter his fate by contacting a figure named Kouu, hoping to bring victory to the Sinners in exchange for a changed future. However, his efforts were disregarded, and he ultimately met his end in battle against Haito Luo Buffett, a member of the opposing Forest of the Greats.

In terms of role in the story, Nostradamus functions as a behind-the-scenes manipulator who attempts to steer the conflict between the Sinners and the Forest of the Greats through his prophetic ability. His key relationship is with Kouu, whom he approaches to bargain for his future, though the interaction is one-sided. He also interacts with other Sinners as a strategist and his death at the hands of Haito marks a significant defeat for his faction.

His development is limited by his early demise; he remains a character who tries and fails to escape a destiny he saw clearly, highlighting the theme of inevitable fate within the series.

His notable ability is called The Great Prophecy, which manifests as a book of prophecy that allows him to foresee future events with accuracy. This talent makes him a valuable asset in planning but also a liability because his predictions are not always interpreted correctly. In addition, he retains medical knowledge from his past life, allowing him to function as a physician.
