Description
Henblitz Drought is the vice-commander of the Liberion Knights Order. He is a man in his late twenties.
His personality is defined by a strong adherence to justice and fairness. He is described as honest, straightforward, and sincere, but not stubborn or inflexible. Despite his serious demeanor, he can occasionally show a helpful, almost meddlesome, side. A notable trait is that he becomes quite passionate and hot-headed when he drinks alcohol.
Within the Knights Order, his skill with a sword is said to be second only to the commander, Allucia Citrus. He wields a style of swordsmanship focused on overwhelming power and speed, using linear movements that press the opponent. One of his signature techniques is a spinning cut, where he rotates his entire body to deliver a slash. This move is designed to be difficult to defend against, as the centrifugal force adds to its power and the spinning motion makes it hard for an opponent to judge the distance and timing of the strike.
His role in the story begins with skepticism. When the legendary sword instructor Beryl Gardenant is appointed as a special instructor for the knights, Henblitz doubts that this unassuming country man could truly be the master who trained his commander. This leads him to challenge Beryl to a duel. The encounter is a humbling experience; after experiencing Beryl's overwhelming skill firsthand, Henblitz realizes the vast gap in their abilities. Following this defeat, he develops a deep and sincere respect for Beryl, becoming one of his devoted followers and continuing to train under him.
His key relationships are primarily with his superior, Commander Allucia Citrus, and with his new master, Beryl Gardenant. As vice-commander, he is her loyal subordinate and the second-strongest member of the order. His relationship with Beryl transforms from initial distrust to complete admiration and a student-mentor dynamic. Henblitz's development sees him moving from a position of pride as one of the kingdom's finest knights to a more enlightened understanding of true mastery, willingly placing himself as a student once again to learn from the stronger swordsman.
