To achieve the ultimate Shiyuu state, she murdered her own sister, believing this act would empty her of sentiments tying her to the conscious world. This event marked a turning point, transforming her into a ruthless and emotionally detached individual; her actions during the ritual, particularly killing Kyou Kai's sister, established her as Kyou Kai's nemesis. Following the ritual, You Lian wandered through various states before settling in Zhao. She initially served under the King of Wei but was released due to her uncontrollable nature. Maintaining only tenuous communications with Zhao's king, she resided on Mount Rou. Her associates outside the tribe eventually gave up on her due to her inability to uphold the Clan Shiyuu's status and wellbeing. Her personality was defined by darkness, ruthlessness, and arrogance, shaped by her assassin upbringing. She employed underhanded tactics and manipulation to secure victories, exemplified by convincing other ritual contestants to target Kyou Shou collectively. Aware of Kyou Kai's quest for revenge, You Lian deliberately leaked her location through rumors relayed via Kyou Mei. When Kyou Kai arrived at Mount Rou, You Lian ambushed her with over 20 Yuu tribe members. During their confrontation, You Lian falsely claimed Kyou Kai's sister had betrayed her out of doubt in her abilities, a statement Kyou Kai angrily refuted. You Lian initially overpowered Kyou Kai, having suppressed her sentiments to achieve the effects of the Priestess Dance without performing it physically, granting her superior strength and endurance. However, Kyou Kai entered a deep state of the Hakuryuu technique, moving instinctively to inflict multiple injuries before delivering a fatal stab through You Lian's heart. Dying, You Lian warned Kyou Kai that the next Shiyuu would hunt her down, to which Kyou Kai asserted her readiness. You Lian's body was hidden by Kyou Mei to delay the next Shiyuu ritual. Later, during Kyou Kai's use of the Life Sharing Technique to save Shin, a vision of You Lian appeared, positioned between heaven and earth. She informed Kyou Kai that passing required sacrificing only a portion of her lifespan and mocked Kyou Kai's decision to offer her entire lifespan, telling her to "die like a fool." You Lian's prediction materialized when Kyou Rei, driven mad by grief, targeted Kyou Kai but was ultimately saved from darkness. As the previous Shiyuu, You Lian possessed exceptional assassination skills and mastery of the Yuu tribe's techniques. Her abilities included achieving the effects of the Priestess Dance without performing it, eliminating limitations like breath constraints during combat. She wielded a sword named Sekikaku, to which she often spoke. Her tactical prowess extended beyond physical combat; she was a manipulative leader who commanded absolute loyalty from her subordinates, directing them even toward fatal missions without hesitation. Her appearance featured long, straight dark hair, pale skin, and tribal-style red tattoos around her chin and mouth, typically concealed under a scarf. She maintained a perpetually serious expression and wore traditional Yuu tribe attire.
