TV-Series
Description
Ishikawa is a male high school freshman and a classmate of the main characters Reina Aharen and Shōta Raidō. He is also a childhood friend of another classmate, Hanako Satō, and is frequently seen together with the group at school and during outings like festivals and beach trips. Physically, he has short, light brown or flaxen hair cut just above his eyes, which contributes to an androgynous and charming appearance. He typically wears the standard school uniform, which includes a grey vest over a white dress shirt.

In terms of personality, Ishikawa is bright, easygoing, and sociable. He demonstrates excellent conversational skills and easily bonds with his classmates, which marks him as an extrovert. He is noted for his calm and collected demeanor, remaining unfazed even when witnessing the eccentric antics of his friends such as Raidō and Aharen. He shows consistent kindness and a subtle sense of consideration for others. His athletic abilities are highly developed, a result of his past experience as a member of the school's badminton club.

His role in the story is primarily that of a supportive friend within the main group of classmates. He helps to create the sense of a typical high school community against which the more unique traits of the central duo stand out. He is often an observer and commentator on the relationship between Raidō and Aharen, providing a perspective from a more normal student. More than just an observer, he actively takes on the role of a facilitator, organizing group activities and sometimes orchestrating situations to give Raidō and Aharen time alone together, such as during a camping trip where he suggested a moonlight stroll.

Regarding key relationships, Ishikawa shares a deep friendship with Raidō; he is one of the people Raidō trusts and often spends time with both in and out of school. His most significant relationship is with his childhood friend, Hanako Satō. He used to affectionately call her Hana-chan but switched to the more formal Sato-san out of consideration for others opinions at school. Their interactions, which often involve Satō being more expressive and Ishikawa acting as her calm counterpart, form a secondary comedic duo in the series. This relationship later deepens considerably, as he eventually proposes to her, apologizing for taking so long, and she accepts, leading to their engagement.

A notable aspect of his background is his athletic achievement from the badminton club, which explains his excellent physical stamina and competitive spirit. He also has a talent for communication and connecting with others. A specific instance of his kind-hearted nature is shown when he gives up his own spot on a group trip to a new transfer student so that she would not be left out. Throughout the story, he does not undergo a dramatic personality shift but develops in terms of his long-term relationship with Satō, moving from a childhood friendship into a formal romantic commitment.
