Qing She, also known as Kei Sha and bearing the epithet "The Silent Hunter," rose to become a high-ranking general in the Zhao military. As the trusted right-hand subordinate and former student of the strategist Ri Boku, his origins traced back to childhood tragedy; orphaned during a bandit raid on his village, he was raised by a local weaponsmith. During this time, he displayed exceptional strategic talent by winning mock tabletop warfare tournaments, an accomplishment that led to his recruitment by Ri Boku after defeating one of Ri Boku’s students.
Physically, Qing She presented a distinctive figure characterized by long black hair tied into two spherical knots, often interpreted as a tribal Zhao style, and wore orange and black robes over armor. His personality blended outward calmness and good manners with a ruthless enjoyment of battlefield traps. Yet, he exhibited impatience when opponents evaded his strategies, a noted flaw. His driving ambition was to attain the vacant seat among Zhao's prestigious Three Great Heavens generals.
Qing She first appeared during Zhao's preparations for war against Yan, tasked with recruiting the formidable warrior Hou Ken. He later played critical roles in campaigns including the defense against Yan's Great General Geki Shin. During the Coalition Invasion, he commanded Zhao's assault on Qin's Bayou region and engaged in multiple battles at Kankoku Pass. There, he nearly defeated the instinctual general Duke Hyou by striking the Qin army's rear, though the Hi Shin Unit's intervention saved Duke Hyou's forces. Qing She recognized and evaded a subsequent Qin pincer tactic targeting him.
In the Koku You Campaign, Qing She commanded 40,000 Zhao troops alongside city lord Ki Sui to defend the Koku You Hills against the Qin invasion led by Kan Ki. He employed intricate tactics, using bait to isolate Qin units like the Zenou and Rai Do Clans while launching flanking maneuvers. His characteristic impatience ultimately led him to abandon his defensive "web" to directly attack the Hi Shin Unit, falling into Kan Ki's psychological trap. Though he escaped an initial ambush by the Zenou Clan with Ki Sui's aid, he was pursued and killed in a duel by Shin, commander of the Hi Shin Unit. In his final moments, Qing She acknowledged Shin's unexpected growth and expressed regret at being unable to repay his debt to Ri Boku.
Militarily, Qing She was an instinctual-type general, likened to a spider weaving strategic webs. His high tactical intelligence and leadership allowed him to outmaneuver opponents like Duke Hyou and challenge Kan Ki. A master swordsman, he led elite cavalry charges and inspired intense loyalty in his soldiers, who fought fiercely to avenge his death. His key weakness was reliance on prepared strategies; once lured out of his defensive formations, he became vulnerable. Statistical assessments rated his strength at 88, leadership at 90, and intelligence at 91 during his prime.
