Fu Di, also known as Fu Tei, serves as a general in the Zhao military and a key vassal under Ri Boku. His combat talents propelled a rapid rise through the ranks, earning him a place as one of Ri Boku's trusted commanders and personal bodyguards. He possesses an average build, dirty-blonde hair, blue eyes, pale skin, and a distinctive scar across his right temple. His typical commander's armor is light purple, complemented by a feathered helmet and a scarf covering his nose and mouth against allergens, leaving only his eyes visible.
He maintains an easy-going, lighthearted demeanor even in battle, providing a stark contrast to his serious comrade Kaine. Fu Di habitually refers to himself in the third person using the honorific "sama," showcasing his self-assuredness. This playful attitude includes frequent distraction by attractive women, often drawing reprimands from Kaine. Despite this exterior, he respects worthy adversaries, offering honorable deaths to foes such as Rin Gyoku during the Battle of Gian. His driving ambition is to earn a seat among Zhao's elite Three Great Heavens.
Fu Di's combat style prioritizes exceptional speed over raw strength, wielding dual blades with proficiency. His reflexes and agility enable him to effortlessly evade attacks and exploit openings, drawing comparisons to fighters like Kyou Kai. At the Battle of Sai, he swiftly defeated Hi Shin Unit commanders Ryuu Sen and Den Yuu. He initially overwhelmed Shin in their duel, but Shin adapted to his speed and knocked him unconscious. Later, witnessing Kaine thrown from Sai's walls, he charged Shin in rage only to be intercepted and knocked off the battlements by Ryuu Sen.
As a commander, Fu Di leads cavalry units exceeding 10,000 soldiers and executes complex tactical assignments, like spearheading a wedge formation to pincer Ou Sen's headquarters during the Battle of Shukai Plains. Ri Boku entrusts him with critical missions, including overseeing large troop transfers. However, he heavily relies on Ri Boku's strategic direction, lacking the independent tactical insight required for large-scale battles alone.
His military career spans key conflicts: the Coalition Invasion Arc at Sai, the Western Zhao Invasion at Shukai Plains, and the Zhao Crisis Arc, joining Ri Boku's exile in Seika after retreating from Kantan. Promoted to general by the Zhao's Retaliation Arc, he fought at the Battle of Gian, saving Ri Boku by killing a Qin soldier with a thrown sword and sparing Rin Gyoku to die with his commander. During the Hango Campaign, he served in the reserve army, ambushed A Kou, and exchanged blows with Shin while covering Ri Boku's retreat. Most recently, in the Three Pillars Arc, he attended strategic meetings at Bu'An Castle, expressing reluctance about aiding Han before acknowledging its necessity for Zhao's interests.
His historical counterpart, the real general Fu Di, differs in timeline, as records indicate he was active earlier than his manga depiction.
