Description
Lycia Plaid is the daughter of Hammond Plaid, the lord of a region in Kanare County, and becomes the arranged fiancée and later wife of Ars Louvent, the protagonist of the story. Raised in noble society, she witnessed its darker side from a young age, which sharpened her observation skills and gave her a pragmatic understanding of politics and power. She possesses remarkable diplomatic talent and a unique ability to sense the emotions of those around her, allowing her to read people and situations with precision. Initially, when Ars meets her, his appraisal skill reveals that she has notably high ambition stats, making him cautious of her intentions. In turn, she becomes guarded around him when he behaves indifferently toward their engagement. Over time, however, she genuinely develops feelings for Ars, and after he confides in her about his special ability, she becomes his most trusted partner and strategist. Her role in the story evolves from a wary betrothed to a key advisor and political ally, helping Ars navigate complex negotiations and manage his growing territory. She excels at diplomacy, often handling delicate interactions with other nobles, and her emotional perceptiveness makes her invaluable in both personal and political spheres. Her bond with Ars deepens as they work together, and she also forms relationships with his other retainers, such as Charlotte and Ritsu, though there is some initial rivalry with Charlotte. Her growth is marked by increasing loyalty and dedication to Ars’s vision of a peaceful and prosperous land, as well as her own confidence in using her talents for the benefit of their domain. Her background in the often harsh realities of noble life and her natural aptitude for strategy shape her into a calculating yet compassionate figure who balances ambition with genuine care for those she protects.
