Description
Menas Renard is a supporting character in the anime As a Reincarnated Aristocrat, I'll Use My Appraisal Skill to Rise in the World. He is an adult male with blonde or yellow hair cut to neck length and brown eyes. His appearance is also marked by a moustache, and he is often depicted wearing a cape, boots, and gloves. He serves as a vassal to Lord Lumeire, a noble in the Canarre District.

Within the story, Menas acts as a capable and trusted advisor to his lord. He is present during critical political and military strategy sessions, where he demonstrates a practical understanding of warfare, explaining the strategic importance of key locations such as Arcantez and Semplar during an escalating regional conflict. His loyalty is clearly to Lord Lumeire, and he participates actively in the management of the district's affairs.

One of Menas Renard's most notable abilities is his expertise in authenticating documents. He possesses a specialized skill for analyzing signatures, stamps, and writing habits, allowing him to distinguish genuine articles from forgeries with a high degree of accuracy. This talent is a specialized ability separate from the protagonist Ars Louvent’s Appraisal skill. In one instance, this skill proves crucial when he is able to identify a fake covenant letter by comparing it to a genuine signature and stamp, pointing out subtle discrepancies in the shape of a circle and the size of a hexagon, as well as minor differences in writing habits.

Menas first encounters the young protagonist Ars Louvent when Ars arrives at Canarre Castle. Recognizing the reputations of Ars's talented companions, Menas directly invites them to enter his own service, an offer that is politely declined due to their established loyalty to House Louvent. Despite this, his relationship with the young lord remains professional, and he later provides information to Ars at Lumeire’s request. His role in the narrative is that of a competent secondary noble, providing strategic support and specialized expertise during the political and military conflicts that drive the plot of the second season.
