Description
Bundus Begalkeit is a character from the manga and anime series Gachiakuta, where he serves as a secondary antagonist. He is a member of the Vandals, also known as the Raiders, a group of criminals composed of individuals with special abilities called Givers. Despite being a newcomer to the organization and describing himself as a rookie who has not yet completed his training, Bundus stands out for his exceptional technical skill and combat prowess, quickly establishing himself as a core asset to the group.

In terms of appearance, Bundus is a massive and imposing middle-aged man, standing at two hundred centimeters tall. His most defining feature is the prosthetic arm that replaces his left limb. He has an aged appearance with a white beard and mustache, and his hair is a very pale green, almost white. He is typically seen wearing a Stetson-style hat and a thick, stitched jacket that matches the standard puffer outfit of the Vandals, along with baggy trousers of the same style.

Bundus possesses a personality that is somewhat at odds with the often cruel and ferocious nature of his peers. He describes himself as an individualist but is generally friendly and approachable, maintaining a calm and easygoing demeanor even when facing an opponent. During his first encounter with the Cleaners, Broto and Dia Santa, he casually chats with them, and Broto notes that he senses no immediate hostility from Bundus. He speaks his thoughts very frankly and is driven by a powerful sense of personal curiosity, which he prioritizes even over his mission objectives. While he is loyal to the Vandals leader, Zodel, and follows his directives, his personal motivations, such as his inquisitive mind, frequently guide his actions. He is shown to have a dislike for secrets and hidden things, which fuels his desire for information.

Within the story, Bundus is deployed as part of Zodel's plan to eliminate the Cleaners, the janitor organization tasked with maintaining order. He is specifically sent to fight Broto and Dia Santa inside the belly of an enormous aberrant beast. While he follows orders, his primary personal motive for this battle is to extract information from Broto about the Cleaners boss, Arkha Corvus, stating that his curiosity is his sole driver and that the intelligence will not be shared with the Vandals. He holds a good deal of respect for Zodel, a feeling that appears mutual, as Zodel acknowledges Bundus's abilities and calls him back from a fight that has become too dangerous. Bundus is also familiar with his fellow rookie, Fu Orostor, and shows disappointment in Fu's lack of self-confidence and inability to fight.

Bundus’s most notable ability comes from his Jinki, a tool that a Giver has a strong emotional connection to, which he calls Hands. His Jinki is the collection of multiple prosthetic arms that he has used over the years, all of which are built from and connected to the first prosthetic he ever used, which acts as the core. Each individual hand has a unique property or ability that reflects his emotional state and what he was going through in life at the time he acquired it. For example, Hand No. 2, which he received at age eighteen, is sharp and capable of cutting through objects, reflecting a time when he was always making cutting remarks. Hand No. 3, from age twenty, can stretch a long distance, reflecting days when he had to stretch his wings. Hand No. 5, from age thirty-five, moves in unclear and unpredictable patterns, a reflection of a stage in his life when much was unclear. Hand No. 6, from age forty, can significantly increase its size, making it more invulnerable to attacks. In combat, Bundus analyzes his opponent's characteristics and selects the most suitable hand to counter them, demonstrating a highly adaptable and strategic fighting style. He has shown the ability to fight against multiple Cleaners simultaneously. Furthermore, as long as the original core prosthetic remains intact, he can restore any of the other hands even if they are destroyed in battle.

Throughout the Reaching to Heaven Arc, Bundus proves to be a formidable obstacle. He engages Broto and Dia Santa in conversation, trading information before battle. When the ground collapses as the aberrant beast begins to take flight, he, Broto, and Dia are thrown together into a falling car, where they must briefly cooperate to survive a crash. Later, when Rudo and the other Cleaners attempt to destroy the beast's core, Bundus intervenes, using multiple hands to block their attacks. He successfully stops Rudo's first shot from a transformed nail gun, but Rudo fires a second, more powerful projectile that destroys Bundus's hands. Though upset by the destruction of his hands, he begins to walk away, instantly restoring them, much to Rudo's surprise. As he retreats through a manhole, he cryptically hints that he knows something about the fate of the character Amo. Despite his defeat, his abilities earn him recognition from Zodel, who officially acknowledges him as a full member of the Vandals.
