Description
Drun is a fictional character from the anime series Princession Orchestra. He serves as one of the primary antagonists and is a member of the group known as Band Snatch. In terms of his background, Drun is depicted as a tall and muscular man with a distinctive appearance. He has shoulder-length dark lilac hair, lilac eyes, and wears lilac eyeshadow reminiscent of a punk rocker. His typical attire consists of a sleeveless black and red vest, long black spiked gloves, grey pants, and black boots.
Drun possesses a personality that is generally described as chill, easygoing, and pragmatic. He is known to be a calm presence within his group, often taking it upon himself to soothe and calm down his comrade Bass when he becomes upset. However, this relaxed demeanor shifts once he enters combat, where he can become riled up, violent, and more aggressive. His motivations are tied to the goals of Band Snatch, primarily opposing the Princesses who stand in their way. He is driven to eliminate these obstacles and has shown a particular interest in stealing Musessence, the special energy source within the series. At one point, he attempts to justify his actions of stealing Musessence as a matter of survival.
Within the story's narrative, Drun acts as a direct antagonist to the main heroines. He is proactive in his efforts, choosing to take on the Princesses himself after a subordinate named Gita is defeated. He targets young girls to extract their Musessence, often using powerful creatures called Jamaocks to do so. His role involves confronting the Princesses, such as Ripple and Meteor, and he has been shown to be a formidable fighter capable of overwhelming them in battle before they achieve new powers. He also demonstrates a strategic mind, such as proposing to accelerate the growth of a Rook-type Jamaock to gain an advantage.
Key relationships define much of his role. He works alongside his fellow Band Snatch members, including Bass, Gita, and Zeal. While he is loyal enough to defend Gita from reprimand, he also has a pragmatic streak, believing his comrades can still be useful. His primary adversarial relationship is with Nagase Ichijo, a girl whose Musessence he attempts to steal. Nagase later transforms into Princess Meteor, becoming one of his greatest foes. Despite this conflict, Drun becomes impressed with her fighting skills after their first major encounter. He also has a notable interaction with a girl named Mikan Himura, whom he meets while disguised as a girl. Intrigued by her practicing, he offers to help her, noting that her Musessence, while not at a Princess's level, is still impressive.
Throughout the story, Drun shows signs of development in his tactics and understanding of his enemies. After learning that the Princesses have figured out how to deal with his Jamaock forces, he adapts by deploying stronger variants, such as adult-type creatures, to challenge them. His abilities are directly tied to his role as a musical antagonist. He has the power to amplify the abilities of his comrades by playing his drum. Furthermore, he can summon and command various types of Jamaocks, his primary minions used to attack and steal Musessence from victims.
