Kyo Gai was a male military officer in the Qin army, distinguished by a diamond-shaped birthmark covering his right eye. He possessed dark grey eyes, dark brown hair usually tied back, light brown skin, and a clean-shaven face. As one of the original members of the Hi Shin Unit during its formation as a 100-man squadron, he fought in numerous campaigns starting with Keiyou. Serving in the 2nd Army during the Keiyou Campaign, which suffered heavy losses, he forged close bonds with fellow soldiers Hou and Ryuu Yuu.
Initially leading the 17th 5-man squad within the Hi Shin Unit at the Battle of Bayou, Kyo Gai rose to 10-man squad leader and ultimately achieved the rank of 100-man commander after the unit expanded to 1,000 soldiers following the Sanyou Campaign. While his initial motivation for joining centered on achieving battlefield accomplishments, his perspective shifted to reflect deep respect for his commander, Shin, and unwavering loyalty to his comrades.
Kyo Gai participated in every major Hi Shin Unit engagement, including the Battle of Kankoku Pass and the defense of Sai's southern wall during the Coalition Invasion. His combat capabilities were reflected in his stats: Strength 78, Leadership 78, Intelligence 72, and Experience C. He demonstrated endurance in prolonged battles, surviving the exhausting clash against the Dojaku unit until rescued by Kyou Kai.
On the 15th day of the Battle at Shukai Plains during the Western Zhao Invasion Arc, Kyo Gai joined a cavalry charge aimed at breaking through to the enemy headquarters. He was killed instantly when struck by the glaive of Zhao commander Hou Ken, his body bisected mid-charge. His final thought was of Shin. Later, his ghost manifested momentarily, expressing jealousy over flowers given to another fallen soldier.
