Description
Maho Sakuramori is a supporting character in the romantic comedy anime I'm Getting Married to a Girl I Hate in My Class. She is introduced as the younger sister of the female lead, Akane Sakuramori, and is a student in a lower grade than the main characters, having transferred to their high school at some point during the story.

Maho is depicted as having a spirited and somewhat mischievous personality. She is described as a spoiled and free-spirited girl who is very fond of her older sister, Akane, and enjoys watching over her. Despite her cheerful and energetic demeanor, Maho has a frail constitution and has been prone to illness since childhood. Due to her weak health, she has spent time traveling around the world, determined to enjoy life to the fullest in preparation for a future where she might be permanently bedridden. Her childhood sickness is also what inspired Akane's dream of becoming a doctor.

Maho's primary motivation in the story stems from her curiosity about her sister's private life. She becomes suspicious of Akane and her classmate Saito Hojo, suspecting they are hiding a secret. To uncover the truth, Maho devises a plan to get closer to Saito. She pretends to have a romantic interest in him, using this as a pretext to follow him and get invited to his home. Her real goal is to spy on her sister and confirm her suspicions about the secret marriage between Akane and Saito. This scheming nature allows her to play a key role in the story as a catalyst for new complications and humorous situations, entering the main couple's dynamic as a rival of sorts and creating additional tension.

In terms of her role and relationships, Maho is primarily defined by her connection to her sister, Akane. Her actions are almost all directed at uncovering Akane's secrets, and she is willing to manipulate Saito to achieve this end. Her relationship with Saito is initially based on this deception, as she feigns affection for him to get close to his household. Her role evolves from a curious observer to an active participant who stirs up the central relationship, with one user review noting her presence makes it harder to root for the main couple due to the unnecessary tension she creates. In a further attempt to interfere, Maho later manipulates the family's grandparents, Tenryu Hojo and Chiyo Sakuramori, in an effort to become Saito's fiancée in place of her sister, a scheme that ultimately fails. Her main notable ability is not a physical or supernatural power, but rather her cunning and manipulative nature, which she uses to insert herself into the lives of the main characters.
