Description
Hibiki Sakurama is a young man who initially appears as a cheerful and optimistic trainee within the Ranger Force. Known for his strong sense of justice and sympathetic nature, he stands out from his peers due to his genuine desire for harmony, even hoping for a future where humans and the monster army, the Invaders, can coexist peacefully. This idealistic outlook, however, masks a complex and driven individual prepared to take extreme measures to correct what he sees as wrong.
His background is marked by tragedy. As a child, Hibiki admired the Dragon Keepers, but his family was part of a cult led by a monster named Peltorla. During one of the cult's rituals, Peltorla attacked, killing his parents and causing his sister, Sesera Sakurama, to lose the use of her legs. Hibiki was saved by the predecessor of the Blue Keeper, who later became a parental figure to him, inspiring Hibiki to join the Ranger Force out of gratitude.
Despite his initial admiration for the Rangers, Hibiki becomes one of the few people to discover the truth: the battles between the Dragon Keepers and the Invaders are staged, and the organization is deeply corrupt. Rather than exposing the monster D, Hibiki decides to ally with him. His motivation is to reform the Ranger Force from the outside, aiming for a world where the corrupt system is corrected and genuine peace is established, even if it means protecting his sister, the Pink Keeper, from his own former idols.
His role in the story becomes pivotal when he and D execute a daring plan to swap identities. Hibiki sacrifices his own arm and suffers severe facial burns to disguise himself as D, allowing D to infiltrate the Rangers in Hibiki's place. This act demonstrates his immense willpower and determination. Following this, Hibiki disappears from public view to work toward his goals from the shadows. After a series of conflicts, he ultimately establishes a new organization called the New Squadron, intended to counter the corrupt Ranger Force and protect both humans and monsters.
Hibiki's key relationships are defined by his family and his unlikely alliance. His sister, Sesera Sakurama, is the Pink Keeper, and protecting her remains a central concern despite their opposing positions. His partnership with Fighter D is a complex, reciprocal alliance built on mutual goals; while D seeks to destroy the Dragon Keepers, Hibiki seeks to reform the system, and they enter a competition to see who can achieve their mission first. While his exact combat abilities are not fully defined, he is a trained Ranger capable of holding his own, but his most notable abilities are his extraordinary willpower, his strategic thinking, and his willingness to make immense personal sacrifices, such as losing an arm and his own identity, to achieve his vision of justice.
