Description
Luna is a central figure in Clevatess, a newborn baby who serves as the emotional and narrative heart of the story. She is the last surviving heir of the Hiden kingdom, also referred to as Hyden, and would have been named Prince Hydelius VI had her official naming ceremony taken place. She belongs to the Hidenean race, which gives her a distinctive appearance: short pink hair, blue eyes, a small, animal-like button nose, and large, expressive ears. Luna is physically an infant, incapable of speech or independent movement, yet she possesses extraordinary innate magical talent that surpasses that of many older characters.
Luna’s background is steeped in tragedy. During the invasion of her kingdom by the Beast King Clevatess, her mother handed the newborn to the demon king, pleading for her survival. In an ironic twist, the destroyer of her royal line became her protector. Clevatess eventually bestowed the name Luna upon her and, along with the resurrected hero Alicia Glenfall, took on the role of her caretaker. This unlikely arrangement transforms the story from a simple war narrative into a complex blend of family comedy and moral drama.
As an infant, Luna does not have a developed personality or personal motivations. Her significance lies in how she influences those around her. Her presence forces Clevatess, a being of pure destruction, to learn care, protection, and affection, shifting his goal from annihilating humanity to studying and judging it through her. For Alicia, a reanimated corpse bound to serve, Luna becomes a new reason to live and fight, redirecting her purpose from justice and kingdom to unconditional protection of a child. Luna also causes Nelluru, a caregiver, to join the group, forming the core of an improbable family.
In the larger story, Luna is the last hope of humanity. As the sole remaining member of the royal bloodline, she is a target for enemies who wish to exterminate her family or exploit her blood for dark purposes. General Drel is one such antagonist who seeks her. Protecting Luna becomes the world’s most important mission, uniting a demon king and his servants in a common goal. Her journey, and the discovery of her true destiny, drives the plot forward.
While Luna does not develop as a character in the traditional sense—she remains a baby throughout the early parts of the series—her growth is reflected in how the world reacts to her. Her innate magical talent hints at great future power, but she does not fight or speak yet. She is the sun around which all other characters orbit, the mystery, the objective, and the emotional core of Clevatess.
