Description
Anne Derwanz is a high-ranking officer in the German military, holding the rank of Kommandant and leading a unit known as Special Kommando the First. She serves as one of the primary caretakers of Sieglinde Sullivan as part of the Emerald Witch education project, a role that has defined her daily life for many years.

Physically, Anne is a young woman with fair hair and a notable figure. Her personality is dual-faceted, shaped by her secretive duties. When disguised as an ordinary villager in the settlement of Wolfsschlucht, she presents herself as quiet, timid, and dutiful, allowing her to blend in without arousing suspicion. However, in her capacity as a military captain, she sheds this demure facade to reveal a vigilant, alert, and highly responsible leader with sharp leadership skills.

Anne's primary motivation is her unwavering sense of duty. She is deeply committed to her mission of safeguarding Sieglinde and protecting the secrecy of the forest. Her actions are driven by a strong sense of responsibility to her commanding officers and her country, following orders without question even when they lead to extreme measures. This loyalty is demonstrated when she calmly reports that the new experimental weapon is ready for use and accepts the order that Sieglinde must be eliminated if she attempts to leave the Werewolves' Forest.

In the story, Anne initially appears as a seemingly harmless village woman. As the Emerald Witch Arc progresses and the situation escalates, she sheds her disguise and takes on her true role as a soldier. She is present during the village assembly where she urges Sieglinde to expel the intruders. Later, following the fire at the B4 Factory and Sieglinde's capture, Anne dons her military uniform and reports for active duty. She operates a Panzer tank alongside her comrades, coordinating an attack on Ciel Phantomhive and his companions. Her role in the story culminates in this violent confrontation, where she is shocked by the supernatural power of the demon butler Sebastian Michaelis before the tank explodes, resulting in her death.

Regarding key relationships, Anne works closely with her fellow soldiers and caretakers, including Major Hilde Dickhaut, Grete Hilbard, and Wolfram Gelzer. She interacts with the Phantomhive household during their stay, notably being horrified when one of Snake's serpents wraps around her body. Her most significant relationship is with Sieglinde Sullivan, whom she has protected and watched over for many years, a bond that is ultimately tested by the harsh orders she must follow.

There is minimal development for Anne as she is a secondary antagonist whose primary function is to serve as an obstacle. Her death is final, and her soul is reaped by the Grim Reaper Ludger, who views her Cinematic Record. This record reveals that she was born on March 25, 1864, and died on August 17, 1889, due to lacerations all over her body.

In terms of notable abilities, Anne does not possess any supernatural or unique combat skills. Her strengths lie in her military training, her ability to maintain a cover identity, her alertness, and her competence in operating military equipment such as tanks. Her effectiveness comes from her discipline and her role within the organized German military structure rather than any individual special power.
