Description
Anne Drewanz is a character from the Black Butler manga series, specifically appearing during the Emerald Witch Arc. She holds the rank of Kommandant, making her a high-ranking officer in the German military, where she leads a unit known as Special Kommando the First. Her primary assignment is as one of the caretakers for Sieglinde Sullivan, a role she assumes as part of the Emerald Witch Education Project.

Physically, Anne Drewanz is depicted as a young woman with fair hair and a full figure. Her personality is notably dual-sided. When disguised as an ordinary villager in the forest settlement of Wolfsschlucht, she presents herself as quiet, timid, and dutiful. However, when acting in her official capacity as a military captain, she sheds this demure facade to demonstrate sharp alertness, strong leadership skills, and a keen sense of responsibility.

Anne's role in the story is primarily that of an antagonist operating under the orders of her superior, Major Hilde Dickhaut. She spends many years as one of Sieglinde Sullivan's guardians, spending a considerable amount of time with the young prodigy in the Emerald Castle. During the Emerald Witch Arc, she is initially seen performing domestic tasks in the castle's kitchen alongside her comrades Grete Hilbard and Wolfram Gelzer, where the group encounters the Phantomhive household. She later participates in a village assembly, where she and Grete urge Sieglinde to protect their community from outsiders.

Her motivations are rooted in her military duty and her mission to safeguard the secret of the Emerald Witch project. When the subterranean B4 Factory catches fire and Sieglinde is taken away, Anne dons her military uniform and reports for duty. She informs Major Hilde that the signal flare from Ciel Phantomhive has been located and that her unit is prepared to operate a new experimental weapon. Anne follows Hilde's orders to prioritize capturing Sieglinde, with the understanding that the girl must be eliminated if she tries to leave the Werewolves Forest.

In terms of abilities, Anne is a capable soldier and leader. She effectively coordinates with her unit to operate a Panzer tank, following instructions to launch a deadly attack on Ciel Phantomhive and his companions. She demonstrates competence in military protocol and weapons operation under the command of her superior officer.

The character meets her end during the climax of the arc. After Sebastian Michaelis disables her tank by kicking its gun and punching a hole through the top, Anne is shocked by the demon butler's supernatural power. Following the detonation of bombs thrown into the vehicle, the tank explodes, resulting in Anne's death. Shortly afterward, the Grim Reaper Ludger reaps her soul and views her Cinematic Record, which reveals that she was born on March 25, 1864, and died on August 17, 1889, from lacerations all over her body.
